Short arms, deep pockets was the one my granny said. Very proud of my "Scottish stingeyness!"

Atlanta was never happening if they were only after a loan.

When I worked for Sky I'd often have English people accusing me of being a stingy Scot for not refunding their pay per view *. I'd usually respond with: here's something you'll never hear an Englishman say "I think it's my round".

Anderlecht is on the hunt for a new striker to replace Fabio Silva, who recently transferred to PSV Eindhoven. The Belgian club has set its sights on Greek striker, Giakoumakis, who currently plays for Celtic Glasgow.

Contacts have been established between Anderlecht and Celtic regarding a potential transfer for Giakoumakis. However, there have not been any concrete offers made at this time, and Giakoumakis has an agreement with japanese club Urawa. It is a last-minute interest from Anderlecht

Celtic will be reluctant to let go of such a valuable player, especially in the middle of the season. However, with the financial benefits that come with a transfer, they may be tempted to part ways with Giakoumakis.

Anderlecht fans will be excited at the prospect of having Giakoumakis in their team. The Greek striker has the potential to be a game-changer and could help Anderlecht achieve their goals for the season. With his goal-scoring abilities, he could be the missing piece in Anderlecht’s puzzle.

The transfer window is still open, and there is still time for Anderlecht to make a move for Giakoumakis. Fans will have to wait and see if the Belgian club can secure the services of the Greek striker.

If they come up with the right fee that looks like a deal I can see happening.

Anderlecht would be a better move for the big man though they are sitting 11th in Belgian league just now, no chance of European football.

It’s an outdated stereotype rather than a national character trait. To be fair to the Scots, when I was charity fundraising in my younger days, the Scottish public donated to our NGO very generously, and interestingly the lower socio-demographic folks actually gave more generously than the ABC demographic folk.

I'd say frugal rather than tight, most people I know will lend you a tenner if they know someone's skint, with most of them careful not to * their money away. I think that's both a Scottish thing and a northern thing embedded in us because we know from past experiences that when the * hits the fan in the UK is us and them that suffer the most.

Found it quite telling Ange saying today that we don't have a physical player like Oh..

Said Kyogo wasn't like that and didn't mention Jackie's name..

I know he's off but I got a hunch from that that maybe there has been a bit of a fall-out..

The sudden drop in GG's playing minutes in the previous months was the first sign. * knows what set it off, but it's real.

To be honest I don’t think Ange really bothers about stuff like this with players. If they want to go then he knows there’s either someone ready to step in or one we can buy in. No point making a drama about like Demebele under the rat.

Aye definitely. Celtic fans only raise tens of thousands in food and money every few months for foodbanks. In the middle of a food and energy crisis no less.

Or raising almost £200,000 for Palestine when we were fined by UEFA for flying the Palestinian national flag.

Tight as * so we are.

Aye that's true to be fair. He his self said he doesn't get attached and think some former players have said things like he doesn't even speak to them at times :giggle1:

So could just be that but do get the impression he wants him gone now..
