Ange Postecoglou insists fans would be quackers to read too much into Giorgos Giakoumakis being absent at Parkhead.

The Hoops boss insisted the Greek hitman sat out the 4-0 St Mirren stroll due to injury – and he’s not playing ‘ducks and drakes’ games with the support. Giakoumakis is a £4m target for big spending J League outfit Uwara Red Diamonds and MLS Atlanta United. But Postecoglou insisted there’s been no change and he expects the frontman to still be at the club by the weekend.

He said: “I see no reason why not. I just deal with what is in front of me, and until I’m told otherwise or something significant happens. He was here tonight mate, so you could have asked him yourself! He’s still very much part of our set-up, I’m not playing ducks and drakes. He would have been involved if he wasn’t injured. Giakoumakis and Carter-Vickers pulled up sore from the weekend. At a stretch, Giako might be available for Saturday.

We need to keep him for the qualities that he has because we do not know who and how good the next player will be. Giakoumakis needs an improved contract, whether being used as an impact player or not.

Don't want to see him go by any means but if it happens it happens. We have a big enough gap at the top and Kyogo is in fine form and Daizen there for cover if need be (though I expect if we sell we will bring in someone)

Juranovic will be a bigger loss in terms of what he brings to the team bts, he's obviously a character who is well loved and plays a big part in helping people settle at the club. Of both players qualities that might be the hardest thing to replace.

That’s a question you would need to ask the man himself. How could I possibly answer that.

Just goes to show you know * all once again.

    Cádiz CF
is very clear that they need the arrival of one or two forwards and they are working on it. The option of Cyle Larin is still very present and it is possible that he is one of the reinforcements, but the club is looking at other options. As ElDesmarque has learned, one of them is Georgios Giakoumakis , striker for Celtic Glasgow.

There are firm negotiations for his arrival, but he also handles other offers and there is stiff competition to get his services. He is a 28-year-old attacker who is 1.86 tall and has exploded in the last two seasons. After going through different teams in Greece, he scored 29 goals in the Dutch Venlo.

This made Celtic sign him and in the Scottish club he accumulates 25 goals in 55 games . He is a powerful forward who goes well into space and who has played in the Champions League with the Glasgow team. At this moment he is not enjoying many minutes and his departure has been valued, so there are many teams attentive to his situation.

Cádiz has established contacts with Celticfor his arrival and also with the player himself, who values the option of reaching Spanish football. His numbers are good and he likes it, but it will be necessary to see if an agreement is reached in the next few days. There are several options that the club manages to achieve the arrival of guarantee reinforcements for the attack.

I don't think Cadiz could afford his wages, to be honest. Smaller spanish teams can't pay top dollar. Urawa and Atlanta can probably blow Cadiz out of the water.

You must be a troll. That’s horrendous reading.

    He’s absolutely replaceable.

There’s probably 100 players who have formed a better emotional bond with the fans since Larsson left.

I mean Kyogo, Jota and McGregor from the current squad alone have a far better bond. I’d even throw in the likes of Taylor, Maeda, Ralston and Hatate.

You are massively, massively overrating him.

IMO, he's been traumatized by the Jo transfer saga. GG will be hard to replace, though. I am not in utter love with him, but there is a scenario, a realistic one, where we lose him and regret it.

You'd think GG was the undroppable first choice given the hysteria on display on here.

I am actually surprised one of Everton, West Ham, Nottingham Forrest, or the likes of the teams down the bottom of EPL aren’t interested for the fees being quoted.

Either that or one of the teams near the top of Championship who have parachute payments as he would score goals in that league. It would suit him well with his physicality and work rate.

That sort of team would probably pay the £6-8m that would be better than this chat of €4m. Top championship you would maybe get a clause if they got promotion a couple million bonus.
