I'd love Dike here but I think you would be looking at quite a large sum of cash. I'm sure he cost them £8m. They would be wanting to probably recoup that at the very least. Seems to be really coming onto a game with West Brom now as well. Corberan got them playing good stuff.

Possibly the first major * up at Celtic of the Ange-era letting this guy go and not finding an adequate replacement

I think some sort of a wage rise as he's currently well down the earners list in the current squad

Ach they are in the * financially big time, worth a cheeky bid just to see how desperate they are.

Corberan taking them from rock bottom to the play off spots in 2 months is kind of mind blowing, it's the buisness side of the club that's a shambles.

Nothing wrong with wanting a pay rise but it's how you go about it. Your agent feeding the press stories disparaging the team and the league isn't it. We have had none of that crap from JJ, the difference in how both players potential transfer is being handled is marked all the more so as I believe they share the same agent. Which leads me to suspect it is very much player driven in GGs case.

Window hasn't closed and we have Maeda as more than adequate cover at striker if needed (enough wingers to accommodate this and it will give wee Vata a chance to push into the first team)

Ange saying no one leaving or no one coming in as of right now. I’d file this £3m move to Japan under pish.

Believing what Ange says on transfers.. :giggle1:

Given he hasn't agreed personal terms it would make sense that GG isn't leaving right now.

I think he's actually worth the £8m to be honest with you. Strong, quick and an excellent finisher. Playing in a team like ours, with the chances we create? He'd be excellent for us.

GG’s previous agent encouraged him to stay till the summer then approach Celtic about a new salary, given he’s on 12k a week and a lot of the squad earn more than that.

Instead GG bins his agent and gets him to try play hardball with Celtic or even get him a move. It’s backfired as the thought was a decent side would come in for him. Hence the mentions of a Japan and US team.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has issued a fresh transfer update regarding striker Giorgos Giakoumakis, confirming he is still a Hoops player.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Parkhead this month.

J1 League side Urawa Red Diamonds are reported to be close to securing a £3.5million switch to Japan for the Greece striker, but the Australian has not had any definite information on a deal from chief executive Michael Nicholson.

“It is pretty much the same,” Postecoglou said. “As I said, Michael is dealing with all that stuff and, as we sit right here, nobody is leaving or coming.

“There is always going to be speculation around the place but from our perspective at this moment there is nothing definite happening.”

This comes after the Greece international shared cryptic social media message after scoring in the Viaplay Cup semi-final win over Kilmarnock.

Sharing a snap on Instagram of his celebrations at Hampden, Giakoumakis wrote: "Enjoy every moment like it's your last! "On to the final!

"Thank you for the immense support".

Postecoglou hailed Giakoumakis for his attitude, stating: "He always has. I kept getting asked questions about him and Josip (Juranovic).

"I see them in training every day and their attitude is first-rate. If you look at our second goal it is (James) Forrest to David (Turnbull) to Giakoumakis and that's the three guys I put on.

"They are not sitting around moping that they are not starting. They understand that for us to be successful then we need a strong squad and whether you start or not the opportunity still exists whether you play 60 minutes or 30 minutes to contribute to your team and that is the attitude of the boys.

"It was brilliant for Giako to get his and the three contributors to the second goal is a testament to the attitude of the boys at the moment."

Ange now confirming Giakoumakis isn't causing problems behind the scenes and that both Giakoumakis and Juranovic have been first rate in their attitude.

Saw McGregor and Starfelt making noises over the weekend after the semi final which seem to back this up, they're both very popular in the dressing room.
