Giakoumakis has his uses when the need is there to be a more direct and physical outball which domestically is at best, 6 times a season if nothing ever goes wrong with our squad.

Giakoumakis has been great for us given he's done largely nothing his entire career bar being topscorer in Eredivisie for a relegated team which in its own right is * massive regardless of the league you play in.

But Ange clearly has an idea of what he expects and wants from players and as a result, has no problem getting players out when required.

Profit is profit at the end of the day, Giakoumakis oddily was just never a player I expected would get us anything over £10mill. It may upset a lot if Celtic do it, but I've no issues seeing him leave for £5mill as I would be assuming if Celtic did have tabs on profitability on players they would be expecting the likes of Jota, CCV, Hatate, O'Riley, Abada, Maeda and Kyogo to be the guys that get us £12 mill+ each as a bare minimum each.

But I appreciate the rumoured fees for Giakoumakis and Juranovic (especially him) are highly underwhelming.

 

I heard he let GG go and told Benji to hit the sunbeds and wear Giak's kit, as we have too many goalies and no enough strikers.

The J League outfit are being heavily bankrolled and look to have gotten their man, according to Japanese outlet Sponichi. They claim that Giakoumakis is on his way to Japan, where he’ll undergo a medical before signing and being officially unveiled as a Urawa Reds player. The news comes just hours before Ange Postecoglou’s side take on Kilmarnock in the Viaplay Cup semi-final at Hampden, which Giakoumakis will now certainly miss if reports in Japan are accurate.

 

Ange said there was nothing imminent regarding GG and JJ. I know he tends to talk baws regarding transfers but I believed him when he said that yesterday. 2 of them will probably leave tomorrow now

 

Yeah they played very similar numbers of games. Kyogo 20 goals in 33 games, Jackie 17 in 29. In the league Jackie played 1 more and scored 1 more.

 

Hope he gets on today and scores for us if this is his last game for us.

 

Gonna miss him man, I actually like him more than Kyogo.
