He's not done a job for us?

    Top goalscorer in the league?

Find the money and find a way to make GG stay.
I'm getting sick of this charade already. Nobody wants him to leave.
    Top goalscorer and major asset.
We should be trying everything to make him stay.

He's done a job but his all round play should be better and he does miss a lot of chances.

We defo need a physical option but GG isn't the answer for me.

Scored some massive goals and had that self belief that I'll miss..

Remember when he didn't back down and was saying we're much better than them after the 3 nil mauling last year. Used to fancy it against anyone..

Had character and a winners mentality..

Yeah this is more like the sort of team I would have expected him to go to. Although id rather he wasnt going anywhere, not happy with this at all. Im sure we are capable of keeping him but for whatever reason we dont seem to keen to do it. The whole thing is very strange. Celtic wont say it but I think it boils down to Giakoumakis wanting more money and Celtic not willing to give him it. Disappointing all round.

He wants a massive pay rise that is unrealistic we offered him a good pay rise and he wants at least 6K more than we offered. Why pay him that when he offers us much less than Kyogo does.

He has scored some massive goals for us at important times and his record is decent.

We'll be pushed to find better.

I wonder if he'd have been satisfied by simply getting 1 start for each 2 games Kyogo starts. Maybe a modest pay rise on top of that. He does have a lot of ability that merits a starting spot more often.

In simplest terms... We're a little bit weaker for the loss of JJ but a good bit weaker for the loss of GG - unless we bring in a replacement straight away. Right now if someone neutralises Kyogo we can put on a striker of a completely different mould, and they're forced to adapt, or potentially both together to truly go wildcard. None of our current cover do that if GG is gone...

GG is a proven goal scorer who can work out system and change games if brought on. They're seriously hard to find. I trust Ange's judgment, but it's a huge risk to sell him

If we can get Cho in I think that's an upgrade on GG tbh, he's a bit taller than GG and would still provide a more physical threat than Kyogo, but more mobile and better on the ball to link up play, on paper he just looks more suited to the way Ange wants to play. Also younger with more room to improve. As much as I like GG and he's scored some important goals, he's not irreplaceable.

CELTIC are set to cash in on striker Giorgos Giakoumakis in a deal worth up to £8million — THREE times what he cost.

SunSport understands Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds lead the race to sign the Greek ace, with clubs from FIVE other countries in the frame.

Italians Sampdoria are also keen, while teams from Russia, Germany, the US and the Middle East have also made their interest known. All are very aware of Celtic’s determined stance over their valuation, with the frontman still under contract until 2026.

Serie A strugglers Sampdoria are understood to want Giakoumakis on loan with a view to buying him permanently in the summer IF they avoid relegation.

Celts signed the 28-year-old from Dutch minnows VVV-Venlo for £2.5m in August, 2021, but it’s been claimed displeasure over his wages and a rejected offer for a contract extension have led both parties to seek a transfer this month.

Cash-rich J-League outfit Urawa, backed by Mitsubishi, are prepared to meet the Hoops asking price with a substantial down-payment and more to follow in instalments.

Their new boss, Pole Maciej Skorza, knows all about the ex-AEK Athens ace, who had a loan spell in Poland with Gornik Zabrze two years ago.

    Love that about him.

I remember him saying that he envisaged himself scoring the winner v St Johnstone just as we were ready to kick off after their late equaliser. Then he goes up the park and does it.
