Even in his sulking state, he still helped us to come away with a point from the cesspit. Whoever comes in will have fairly big boots to fill.

    Strange move tbh.

Surprised there isn't more interest from Europe. If we get £6m I'd be reasonably OK with it. Purely due to his age and the fact he hasn't been playing regularly.

We’ll miss him more than people think.

He’s been an amazing player for us. We don’t win the league last year without him.

    I'm of this opinion too.

It's a strange move for me but I'd imagine Ange has spoken to him at length about life over there etc. Wish him and his family all the best.

Strange move. I'm assuming this is money motivated? If so I doubt there was anything we could have done to make him stay.

    Good luck GG

I can understand why he wants to leave, he isn't first choice for us and is 28, plus Japan is some country to finish your peak years in.

Good luck to the big man, I'd have preferred he stayed and got a proper run in the team, but alas.

Risky to letting him go without a proper replacement being signed.
I absolutely hated those times when we were forced to play without a striker.
All it takes is for Kyogo to pick up a knock...

Think it’s absolutely criminal the way he’s been mis-managed by Ange at this club.

No wonder he’s been kicking up a stink to get tae…

Why would you go to Japan in your prime years? Not very ambitious from the big man.

Anybody any idea how much we are getting for GG? We have been pretty good in recent times at getting decent fees for players.

Shame, he's been really important for us, hopefully we are close to getting a replacement with similar physical attributes.

He'll definitely be missed, but his mentality has held him back here and will continue to do so I feel. His 'woe is me' mini-strops constantly every game when something doesn't go his way or a move breaks down have been irritating for some time. I can't imagine Ange is the kind of manager where that goes unnoticed too.

Saying that, his physicality is a huge asset and his goals to minute ratio are probably right up there.

Only time will tell how much him leaving will hurt us, but if he is not fully committed then he needs to move on.

Be gutted to see him leave, as long as we are bringing in Cho and another forward I will be happy.

Think losing him is still a blow, we haven’t had a big strong forward like him since big Jan VH.

I think people forget that it’s hard to find a big pain in the * forward of that mould.

Can't say I've seen his mentality affecting his impact. He might be a bit dramatic but his effort and input never really changes throughout a shift, don't really see him dropping off and think his attitude on the pitch recently has been really good.

Be very disappointing if he leaves but I'd understand why he might be looking elsewhere when he's not getting game time. Only Ange will understand why that is but will have to trust him on that; I personally think he deserves to be starting much more. Will leave with best wishes.

Maybe other options aren't that appealing? Teams in European leagues may not fancy paying the money for an out of form 28 year old striker who has only had 1.5 good seasons in his entire career, if we are being Frank.

As much as I like him!
