Be very surprised if this doesn't go ahead now. Japanese media seems reliable.

I assume this also means we're ready to push the button on a striker coming in. Hopefully Cho.

Probably a done deal or near enough then, not like the japanese press would have any reason to make up * like our rags do. Would say that points to us being close to confirming another incoming aswell then, don't think we'd be letting him talk to other teams if we didn't already have his replacement near completion.

Was really hoping he would stay until the summer. They must be offering him good wages as well. He looked yesterday too

I think we’re making a mistake letting him go just now, we need Cho in now if this is true.

Giorgos Giakoumakis 'hasn't flinched' from his Celtic responsibilities despite speculation surrounding his future, insists Ange Postecoglou.

The 28-year-old Greek has been the subject of numerous reports linking him with a move away from Parkhead in recent weeks amid a lack of starting game-time with the champions.

Giakoumakis played the final half-hour of Celtic's 2-0 Premiership win over Kilmarnock on Saturday, striking both the post and the bar in an impressive outing.

Postecoglou praised the striker for his attitude recently and addressed the talk of his potential departure.

Postecoglou said: “Apart from the fact Giorgos was unlucky not to score, his work-rate, his tracking back, the way he was holding the ball up for us, he was good. He worked his socks off and he has all the time.”

When asked about his future, the manager said: “I just deal with what is in front of me. Giako has been working hard and Kyogo [Furuhashi] is in great form, scoring every week.

So he is having to come on and make a contribution and he hasn’t flinched from that.

“I don’t think about who I want to keep or who wants to leave. I just work on the basis of the group I have in front of me. If anything changes, I deal with it.

“People have their own ambitions in their football career. My goal is to make sure we are supporting them in their endeavours. It they think opportunity is better for them elsewhere, then we will go through that process.

“I don’t think about it because I may want to keep all of them but I could get offers in for them.

“I think it was my first year of coaching that my favourite player left me after two games because he had a better offer, so I have never fallen in love with them.”

Disappointed he's leaving but that's football I suppose.

We don’t need to sell. Let’s hope it’s a really decent fee. 10+ anyone?

Was starting to think maybe there was a chance of him staying and knuckling down, turns out to be short lived. Be gutted to see him go but if we bring in a replacement of equal or better quality then no complaints.

Still think he's been harshly treated in terms of starts, but it is what it is.

Get 5 or 6 million for him pay 2.7 for Cho and we’re getting a younger arguably better striker suited to our system and made a profit

We will badly miss his physicality and knack of scoring important goals. Those are attributes that are not easy to replace.

I'm glad we're 9 clear because losing Giakoumakis half way through a season is potentially very harmful.

Think it will be closer to half of that.

If we've got a replacement lined up and he wants to leave think that will be the deciding factor not holding out for a top end fee, which for Giakoumakis I'd say £6m is the limit.

If Juranovic and Giakoumakis go this window looks like our model is changing in terms of selling on. More frequent and turn a profit as opposed to hold and maximise profit.

We won't miss Jura the same though.

    Giakoumakis is a big loss.

their age is a factor in that as well though, they're not really going to increase in value from where they are now, they're at their peak realistically, the younger guys like Jota and Abada we'll still hang on to for a much bigger offer, there's no need to turn them over as quickly for just a 'decent' profit.

Puts pressure on cho to hit the ground running. Well to a certain extent, Giako hasn’t scored since champs league has he?

Like GG, but if he doesn't want to be here then bye bye.

Cho is arguably better suited to us and is younger

    100%..

If Juranovic and Jackie were 24/25 we likely wouldn't be as comfortable punting them and they likely wouldn't be as keen for another payday elsewhere..

Definitely miss the big man. Was some asset on his game..

Looked a bit stroppy recently, understandably but some attitude yesterday. Knows he's lined up for a move and comes on like that. Was a man possessed. Looked gutted walking round the park at full time also..
