I agree with you. He has his limitations, but he’s always good for a goal and that’s an invaluable asset over the course of a season.

Would we have won the league last year without him? I have my doubts.

We strive to collate and maintain over 50,000 salaries from the worlds 7 largest sports, spanning the past 10 years. Our team trawls the internet for reliable sources on a daily basis to save you, our readers, the time! Spawned out of a University economics paper on the state of modern football wages, our founders were inspired to make the information they researched publically available and have maintained the database ever since.

Please note we only accept salaries from:

    - Team/player press releases
    - Confirmed by widely circulate articles from top tier publications
    - Industry experts & team insiders
    - Accurately and reliably sourced encyclopedias & databases

Agreed. That's from their site, I don't know why people would believe any of these numbers. They seem like guesses to me, although on average they do seem pretty reasonable.

    -----

My thoughts on this GG situation is that he doesn't want to leave Celtic but we're trying to move him on to get the money and trade up. I think that may have always been the 'Plan A' with regards to GG.

I rarely get anything right, but I said this back when GG first signed..

I also have my doubts. He found his feet at exactly the right time.

    It's unfortunate, but the reality.

What he's earning or isn't earning is a moot point imo.

As I said in the Jura thread, any player agitating for, or inclined towards a move away should be sold asap.

It might sound *, it might even sound callous, given that he's just had a new baby, but the team and club MUST come first.

We've seen how damaging and destructive to a dressing room this can be.

Forget the * show that was the 10iar season, You only have to look at Monday's performance to see how shambolic the inclusion of a player with a foot out the door can be. Our whole team dynamic and performance fell off a cliff as soon as Jura was introduced.

Or look across the city at the mutants. The triangle has effectively shat all over his own market value, and when he starts has them effectively a man down.

Now's not the time for sentiment, or even empathy.

    We move on.

I'm really surprised if we're only looking for £6m.

I'd want the other side of £10m.

No chance we’ll get anywhere near £10m, unfortunately. We signed him for £2.5m and he’s struggling for game time.

Think £6m is probably right, if we can get that much.

I personally think £6m is fine if you use it wisely. You sell him for £6m and bring in the 2 Korean strikers for 2/3rds of that, you've done good business.

there is probably some element of truth to them, like rough brackets, but exact ammounts would be difficult to find out.

below is the like for Midtjylland
Football Club Midtjylland 2023 Wages | Player & Team totals (salarysport.com)
and they could afford GG if they wanted I think and they need a goal scorer to help them get into the Championship round.

£6-8m is more realistic, I like the different option he brings to the team but be very surprised if we got over 10 for him, since he's obviously our second choice and he only cost us just over 2, at his age he he won't have any real sell-on value for the next team, only thing really in our favour is the length of contract. Still a healthy profit to turn around in a short space of time, if not mind blowing.

Real shame, like the guy and ange won't play two of them together so I can see where he is coming from. Best he moves on, but clubs linked aren't exactly inspiring

Simply put, no. It’s all just guesswork (or figures taken from other people’s guesswork, e.g. media).

I rate him highly and see absolute dross going for more than that in England.

I know it's a different market but he's worth more than £6m to us imo.

I agree with what others have said with we should invest it wisely but I'd like to invest it wisely and make really decent profit on top. I'm greedy.

I can't really blame him for wanting away. He's been dropped when he's been the man in form and Kyogo has been struggling a good few times now.

You'd prefer to keep him for a few year as he's a reliable goalscorer and good battering ram of a striker whod probably score 30 a season as first choice but you can't blame him for wanting to leave.

He's 28 and coming into his later years and only started about 23 games for us.
