My mate got dragged along by his wife. He said they were actually pretty decent and had the full arena on their feet.

Couldnt understand the stage being drowned in blue lighting during Sunshine On Leith, though....:97:

This is the band that got mme going back to gigs again. I used to go to loads in the late 70s early 80s, when bands would play all the major citys regardless of venue size. Bristol hasn't got an arena, but the 'big' names would still play the Colston hall or the Locarno. I saw amongst others The Clash, AC/DC, The Damned, U2, Elvis Costello, The Specials, Madness,The Pogues, PIL and Stiff Little Fingers.
You used to just be able to turn up and pay, which is unheard of now.
Anyway, I never was a fan of seeing bands 'second time around' but a few mates convinced me to see Stiff Little Fingers on their annual tour a few years ago, and it was fantastic, lots of old faces there which helped the atmosphere, and now I if I only see one gig a year I make sure its them.

Popping out to see the Pigeon Detectives tonight in Aberdeen.

    Still tickets left too.

Looks like only about 220 have been sold so far for the Lemon Tree.

They used to be very good live.

Jake Bugg 31st, Arcitc Monkeys 1st November, Stereophonics 7th November and Beady Eye 10th November.

A rapid fire 4 gigs then nothing for the rest of the year.

Decent year for me though I've been to Titp, Eminem and Stone Roses so far - usually hit TITP and that's about it.

The Hydro is a good venue, although I was expecting a bit better after hearing so much about it.

There was a weird echo at times which was annoying, where abouts were you?

Standing area, halfway back from the stage and just left of centre really.

Were you standing or sitting? Didn't actually notice an echo.

I was like 3 or 4 rows back from the front, off to the right.
