Off to see Neil Young tonight at Hydro. Saw him and the backing band at Jones Beach NY last year and he was unbelievable. If he plays Down by the River you are in for a treat.

Thi is my fifth NY concert and he keeps getting better. A true great and hope you all enjoy :50:

Coldplay last night were absolutely superb.

Say what you like about them but they are entertainers. A circus of colour and dancey tunes.

Springsteen was excellent at Hampden, but Hampden is such a poor place for a concert.

The pitch was packed as nobody was checking tickets leaving seated people to just walk down.

Getting home was murder as well with everyone heading for the train.

I saw Neil Young at the Hydro as well. I was on the top tier, slightly to the left of the stage. Having never seen him live before I didn't know what to expect (although I have a few of his live albums) I thought he was great. He's got that kind of voice that doesn't age. I thought he nailed every song.

Just after that I seen AC/DC at the Etihad. Like many I was a wee bit disconcerted that Axl Rose had been given the gig BUT he was brilliant IMO. He he was spot on with the Brian era stuff and he nailed the Bon Scott songs too. They played songs like Sin City that they have never done for ages and I reckon its because it doesn't suit Brian's voice but Axl was fantastic. I've seen them live 4 times and that was probably the best sounding.

..and then just the other day there I went to see Joe Bonamassa at the Armadillo (3rd time seeing him). He was doing a tribute to the British musicians that inspired him so we got a mix of Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton songs and despite only knowing a few of them it was a great night out. A blues-rock * that man is.

As of now my next gigs are in January (Black Sabbath) and AWR (March) next year. Iron Maiden and Aerosmith are meant to be touring the UK next year so I'm keeping my ears open for news on them too.

I didn't notice Frightened Rabbit tickets went on sale on Wednesday.

Both nights at the Barras have sold out. Friday and Saturday night in December as well.

Got tickets for Aberdeen on Tuesday night.

Frightened Rabbit are on the bill now.

I'm going to Biffy on the Saturday night, but I'm tempted for the Friday too.
