Old Firm fans go head-to-head in bid to get rival anthems to top of charts - The Daily Record

RANGERS and Celtic fans are battling to get their teams to the top of the pop charts.
As the Record revealed earlier this week, Gers fans have launched a Facebook campaign to get their club anthem - Tina Turner's The Best - to the top spot this week.
Their team will win the Scottish Premier League title if they beat Hibs on Sunday - and they hope the song, played at every Ibrox match, will be No1 later that day.
But Celtic supporters have launched a rival bid to get their own anthem, You'll Never Walk Alone, to the top of the charts.
And last night, they seemed to be catching up on their Old Firm rivals.
The official iTunes midweek download chart had The Best at No6 and the Gerry and the Pacemakers hit at No15.
Last night, one Celtic fan said: "I think it's a pretty petty attempt by Rangers fans in the first place. But it would be nice to finish ahead of Rangers in something this season."
But a Gers supporter accused their rivals of copying their Facebook idea - which has 25,000 supporters,adding: "We must have one final push - we are almost there."
Last year, X Factor winner Joe McElderry missed out on the Christmas No1 to Rage Against the Machine, following a Facebook campaign.

I had a look at a few clubs pages and the ones on the Liverpool one must be posting on there all day. The same messages as well! If I were a Liverpool fan,I think I'd get sick of it after a while and tell them to GTF
