    Perfect response for this thread.

Fair enough he should have been more careful when it came to his second booking but the performance last night doesnt take away from last season, he was our next best player after Brown and come tuesday night i'll have every faith in him against Arsenal.
Imo at the moment he is Celtic and Scotland's best defender.:50:

Spot on mate,it looks like Talkscotland from here,* the Scottish national team, full of * with not one bit of passion, did you see the National anthem before the game, one player singing and the others looking as if they were out for a sunday stroll.Zero - Passion

I still fail to see how his performance for Scotland should judge his Celtic destiny.

he has been our best CB for a very long time and the man can actually football too.

have to agree that he is still our best defender but there are times in a game where he tends to relax on the ball with a bit of swagger he is def not as good as he thinks he is

This'll be the same 'trumpet' that was one of our two best players last season?? :87:

I agree with you he's not as good as he thinks he is but unless we have other centre backs who are clearly better than Caldwell there is no point dumping and rubbishing the guy. I wish we did have two centre-backs who were clearly of a higher standard than Caldwell but we don't.

Selling a player when you don't have anything better to replace them with is pretty stupid if you ask me.

Some people are ridiculous, Last season Caldwell did well, as many of use said helped mcmanus alot as well, although he was injured for alot of the season.

He isnt playing his best right now no, but when he gets on form, hes great, not afraid of challenges, people say he lacks pace, but what CB is lightening fast, hes strong and we are going to get noone better with the money we have got

    :56: Hilarious thread.
If we were sacking players for having a shocking international game, we'd have nobody left at the team.
International Football is not Club Football. Deal with it.

This start of this thread is a joke. I can't believe he's been judged on something that happened when he played for a different team.
Last season he was outstanding for us and could easily have been POTY and yet when he has a bad 6 mins for scotland we have someone saying get rid off him and don't start him for what could be the biggest game of the season. Typical pathetic premature Talkceltic rant thread.

    Rant over.

I think its a make or break season for Caldwell, he had a poor 1st season, a average 2nd season and last season he was outstanding:50: for all the talk of him "wanting"19k a week. he will have to play just as well if not better than last season. good luck to him. I hated him for the 1st couple of season but last season he made me choke on my words!!! only problem i still have with him is, whenever he plays a few good games, it goes to his head(clearly) and he becomes a liability!!! reminds me of bobo. Takes his time and concentrates, hes class!!! if he thinks hes class, hes a bombscare.

wouldnt jump the gun and sell him!!!

It seems some watch a different game when celtic play ,Caldwell is far superior to any other centre back we have ,Loovens is a good centre aswell and they 2 would be my pairing ,O"Dea can play aswell but i prefer my first 2 ,McManus i would bye bye to him ,how he gets a game is a mystery to me ,maybe in the reserves for him ,but Caldwell took a lot of flak when he arrived but after Jauary that season he came onto his game and he was a standout and he had a sore back carrying Mick .

My thoughts exactly.(i.e. I came into the thread to say just that but you beat me ti it:50:
Black Bag also stole my opening line! But that's OK - he's family!)

Punting Heid would be like sailing across the Pacific with your outboard motor chugging and sputtering away clumsily and just chucking it overboard cos it 'wasn't working that great'. You now have to paddle with your hands or summon immense fart power to get you to California.

We all know Barcelona aint gonna swoop for him but unless we have a better option it's dumb to cut off your nose to spite your face.

    Seriosly man.
