If we're ever on the same Griffball team again there will be betrayals galore.

To be fair the ball is no way over the line in that picture.

Sokratis * Dortmund at the first goal, fell asleep at the back post. Also, it looked like Hummels was offside when he headed it in, although it was clearly over the line.

Can't see how Dortmund will do any better next year. Sure, they almost certainly won't have the same bad luck with injuries but their best attacking player is going to their biggest rivals (again) and they don't have the money to reinforce sufficiently. Reus and Hummels will probably leave as well.

Wrong on all three counts. Sure, we don't have the money of Man City, or Chelsea (or Bayern for that matter) but they've made huge profits in the last 2 seasons and will spend on a striker. Reus is staying and I can't see Hummels going to United or Barca, despite what the tabloids say.

    And Hummels wasn't offside.

Fair enough, he looked off when I saw it in real time.

And you don't have the money to adequately replace any of your stars, no matter how much profit you make. You lost Gotze for megabucks but replaced him (I know not like for like) with Aubameyang - a very poor relation. Similarly, when Lewa goes you won't replace him with a Falcao, Ibra, Suarez or even Van Persie. And if Barca come in for Hummels, he's off, no 2 ways about it. No way anyone other than the most hardcore Madridista is turning down that move.

It's sad but it's hard to see anything other than an end to this great Dortmund era. I think Klopp will stay at least 1 more season but I cannot see you competing with Bayern at all.

Mhikitaryan was Gotze's replacement, not Auba. And they're not like for like either. They bought both for the money they received for Mario. And while he hasn't set the world on fire he's still put up good numbers for the club in his first season (and he struggled with injury to begin with). I expect to see improvements next year. Ginter is likely coming in next season too, and he's a good defender for the future, and Klopp has committed to the club.

They don't need to replace Lewa with a Falcao, as honestly he's a tier below the level of any of the players that you mentioned (except Van Persie). I'd wait to pass judgement until I see what the squad looks like going into next year, instead of coming up with sensationalistic * on how this is the 'end of an era'.

Of course you need to replace Lewandowski. Aubameyang is *. Bayern don't have a world class striker but don't need to because they're 5 star in every other position. Plus they'll probably buy another striker to go alongside Lewa and sell Mandzukic.
If you were able to remove your emotion and bias from the equation and look at it logically you'd would see that what i'm saying is hardly sensationalist, but in fact realistic. BVB are already a lightyear behind Bayern, are losing their top scorer TO Bayern, and the futures of their other star players, plus manager, are uncertain.

Baring a miracle or billion euro investment, there is no way Dortmund are winning the Bundesliga next season. This is simply the truth.

I didn't say that they didn't need to replace Lewa, and they will. I said that they didn't need to replace him with a mega money signing like the one's that you mentioned. I can understand why you believe Bayern will run away with it again, but there's no way that you can say for certain that they're incapable of winning the Bundesliga either, as the difference between them and Bayern isn't as great as having a glance at the standings would suggest.

You got a great manager and team together, managed to do the double, but then Bayern came back and blew you out the water with their finances - just like they will always do. Just like Real & Barca will do in Spain and just like Celtic do or can do in Scotland. (we're building up cash reserves so we can smite any rival in coming years)

BVB had a great time under Klopp but apart from Super Cups or German cups I can't see them winning anything for the next few years. Bayern have had periods of dominance throughout German football history and are beginning another now. Dortmund simply cannot * with them. Bayern could afford to buy loads of good players and loan them out to Dortmund's rivals, and they do it all by the book as well, they're in no danger of breaching FFP and are the posterboys of the largest economy in Europe. I think the gap really is that large. They went 50 * games unbeaten. They were also glorious to watch until Pep came but they're still by far the best in Germany.

Sorry mate but Bayern Über Alles right now.

We'll see. I'm looking forward to next season already anyway. I'll probably go over for the Super Cup.
