Gary Caldwell is a better centre back than anyone we have at the minute.

I can't think of anything to say to disagree with you on TM.

Lennon would rather have money than a 4th striker? Rubbish.

    He was joking.

strachan might have rated samaras because of the goals he was scoring back then, but honestly.. do you think he deserves a chance to break up our squad so that he can flop around on the park? He has been * for a long time now, and it doesn't take a proffesional football mind to see that. We all love the club, but that doesn't mean that we should get paid 25, 000+ a week to contribute absolutely * all

My main problem with Samaras bashing is that it's completely disproportionate. The venom and bile that you people spout just make the rest of the more level headed folk dig their heels in and defend him to the hilt.

Bottom line, he's not great, but he's a different option. And one we've needed in the past.

I think if you're honest you have to admit that he's got skill but the trouble with Sammy has always been his head. His decision making is inconsistent at best and dire at worst. He can't handle the pressure of playing for the club knowing that any mistake is going to get him booed off the park and any success will be forgotten about with the next missed pass. When he's confident and not over-thinking things then he's a starter in my book, the trouble is you rarely see him in that form. I think it'd be best for him and us if he went to a lower-profile club where he has a little less competition for places and just does his thing.

I have watched Sammy pretty closely. Very close in fact as I have a seat in the north stand that is row E. Often when he is lying on the pitch with his hands in the air I have caught him looking my way. With those big sad puppy dog eyes. Usually after he has lost us possession, or trip up over his own hooves.

With his long hair and eyelashes he does garner some sympathy from certain quarters. However, after 3 seasons and watching him closely I have decided he is simply gash.

I dont hate him. I just dont want to see him playing for us again.

What are you on about? No he didn't, he scored 7, no idea where you pulled "2" from.

Samaras what is he still doing at Celtic!!!

He won't move to a premiership side cause he would have to put the work in and won't get as much in wages abroad looks like where stuck with him!! What are your views on the player?

Find it funny the pretentious, belittling folk you get around here. "Those poor Happy Clappers".. Acting all "Forgive Him Father, He Knows Not What He Does"

It almost seems to be at the point where people want him to do poorly for the sake of small personal victory. I'm sick to death with arguing with these people, so I will say one thing (again)

He's a good squad player. We won't find a better 3rd, 4th choice striker (and if we do, then that's fine, let him go).

If can't see his merit at all, then you obviously know better than Strachan, Mowbray, Lennon, Rehhegal et al. I suspect you don't know better than them.

to be honest, he has got every physical attribute that an all round striker needs, tall, quick etc. and there is the one game when everything goes his way and is unplayable and we will win that game.

but for every game like that, there are countless others where he ruins everything he touches. if he isnt able to motivate himself to get up off his * asap and put an actual shift in then he will never find any form of consistency.

id love for him to play the way that he can week in week out and make me eat my own words, but i just know that he wont. he will never be consistent enough. never.

Apart from one good spell at start of his second season and one stormer v rangers hes been dire.Think he needed to move away from us to kick start his career.Hes got ability as we all know but he just does not do it often enough. How many headers has he scored for celtic ?dont think too many and some people say he is a good target man, dont think so.

I agree with you though I don't think it's a question of laziness, I really think it's just poor decision-making. I've never met the guy but watching him make the same mistakes over and over again makes me think he could be dumb as a post. I can only imagine that he has to watch game-film along with the rest of the squad but every time I see him get the ball out on the wing and then turn away from goal and run it backwards and inside just drives me insane. You've got to assume there's someone on the coaching staff telling him not to do that but he does it every game.
Anyway, again, I like the guy, I think he's got genuine passion for the club and wants to do well but he just doesn't have the mental capacity and he's lost the backing of the fans a long time ago.

Think most celtic fans judge him on his performances alone, don't
care what managers have rated him , you'll never convince me sammy is good enough for us.

That's fair enough. But if Samaras' performances do from now, will you allow yourself to be convinced, or are you determined not to be no matter what?
