he should not have been picked but in his defense he was playing out of position and he was our best player last night so the boot does not fit on sammy for last nights downfall

Insulting Sammy seems to be the cool and popular thing to do.

:56: wanting to be popular and cool on an internet forum is not one of my life goals. Sammy is * and how you can say otherwise is beyond me. ok he had a better than normal game last night but his norm is * unfortunately. i can count on one hand the good games he has played for us.

    Welcome to the "Anti-Samaras bridgade".

Soon we're changing our name though. I've thought of a few good names:

    "Anti-* Player bridgade"
"Anti-One good game in 4 years bridgade"
"Anti-Face palm everytime you * up bridgade"

    But

"Anti- Not Good Enough Bridgade" gets my vote.

I'll join all of the above.
The guy is hopeless, how people can stick up for a guy who at best plays well in 1 every 15 games is beyond me!
There is nothing to back it up, no statistics no video evidence, no nothing, why?? Cause he's * hopeless!

My Swiss mates, who hardly watch any Celtic games, kept asking me why a guy like him played for Celtic. He was more busy with his hair than football. Also they laughed how he always tried to beat 2-3 men at the same time and always lost the ball. Instead of tracking back he just stood still.

His body language tells us his confidence is on a new low.

Harsh words but I think that kinda sums his situation up at the moment.

or you could try "Anti-player who plays for the team i support"

why like seriously just stop the reason he dosen't do as well as he should is because idiots like you give him abuse while he is playing for your team and he is one of the few players who geniunely play for the shirt and loves the fans

You couldn't on ' count on one hand the good games Sammy has played. That's what the * I am talking about.

He is far from one of our worst ever players that's just a ridiculous thing to say.

fair enough maybe not the worst but certainly one of the most ineffective players.

    What is he here for??
hes not a midfielder, hes not a winger yet Lenny persists on sticking him out there which I suppose we cant blame Sammy for that. hes not a target man, hes not a goal poacher, he doesn't offer a physical presence up front, I just fail to see why he is playing for us when he offers us nothing.

And to be honest that game at ipox is one of the only games he has stood out as a decent player.

He is effective. He is a excellent option to have.

He probably isn't suited to this league but at his best he is our best player in my opinion. I think Lennon will be able to get that out of him week in week out. But he needs our support.

Anyone else thinking that this is actually the real Jo Venglos?

    Mental enough.

For the record, I have never seen that posted by anyone on here, anywhere.

I like you Mystic. I like Sammy. But I just cannot bring myself to agree with you. He can be a player, we've seen that, but not nearly often enough. I just don't know how you solve an enigma like Samaras.

Personally I think the critisism of Samaras is blown out of proportion but football fans always need that one player to vent their frustration on. The major problems I see with him is that for a striker he's never in the box, he's always drifting out wide when he's the type of forward we need in the penalty area when a cross comes in, he's always holding up the ball and trying to create something when he's not the type player who should be doing that.

Sammy as a striker should be judged on goals and 3 goals last season should say it all , apart from the huns game what does he bring to the team? He can,t head and constantly *,s about on the wing .

The main question is why did he go from a pretty decent scoring rate in his first season and a half to being unable to score in a brothel? He looks terrified IMO and seems to be afraid to get into scoring positions. Its definately a confidence thing.

The other thing is he seems to have been better for WGS than Mogga or Lenny. It may be a style thing. WGS had a lot more wing play and crossing going on and Sammy used to score quite a few.

Other than goal scoring (which I agree he must sort) he is a very talented player. Most of the criticism of the other parts of his game are total bollicks by thick fans who just are sheep when it comes to opinion. He tries very hard, he has pace, he has great ball control for a big guy, he is good in the air and he basically has it all apart from his confidence in front of goal Its such a shame because he could be a really top player if he could just get that confidence back.

I agree to a large extent. However, in this side, he slows the play down and often takes ages to release the ball, whilst his decision-making is very poor. I want so badly for him to do well.

Big mistake by Lenny to continue to persevere with this guy.
