Samaras' form used to be like * roullete :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002:

Glad to see I sort of semi-defended him at the start of the thread, although I'm still sure I am due to be running about naked covered in HP sauce after wagering he'd score 12 goals one season :fear:

Was that not me you wagered that against and owed it immediately when I reminded you that he scored 19 in his first full season?

Loyalty is hard to come by these days, he should be an example to many a footballer(in terms of loyalty)

Naw, I made the post as a bet for the following season (at the time of writing).

I loved big Samaras in his first season - thought he was phenomenal!

Again, it's all down to the big man tonight to win us the game. Crazy to think how f*cked we'd be in europe without him! I'm predicting a massive performance from Samaras.

I've just read his comments in The Sun :notworthy

I especially loved this comment, " If you play in the EPL for a club finishing 11th or 12th the only thing you will remember when you retire is the money, I don't care about the money"

There's not many around in football now with that attitude.

Wonderful comments from Samaras, rarely see that sort of loyalty with footballers.

Gees a goal tonight big man!

Thought he played well in the first half, trying to make things happen. But he fell away in the second half.

He gave the ball away far too often for me tonight. It was beginning to irritate me towards the end.

Our proud captain :shamrock: He could have done better with the ball at some situations but he played really well.

I thought it was the reverse.

Agreed. Ajax seemed to have done their studying - they had a guy on him but also one about 4 yards back. They must have seen how often he turns and has a burst. When they started putting more pressure on us he had more space, but still gave it away a few times. Still I thought he played well overall though.
