Really can't take this as a serious post. Samaras for me is one of our best players. The left side is definitely the best position for him and he does alot of tracking back for someone who used to be a striker. Three games so far this season and he has a goal and an assist.

Love the big guy, he's irreplaceable!! :50:

Think we're starting to accept the big man for what he is. He's never going to score lots of goals but he's an important part of the team. Think a lot of the abuse stems from the time him and Fortune were our forward line and the two were always out on the wings when the ball was coming into the box.

I think there's some truth in that mate and to be honest if we started playing him up front regularly then it probably wouldn't be too long before I'd start getting frustrated with him again.

He's found a home, and a new lease of life, on the left wing though. He can get his head down, go past men and he puts some nice balls into the box for the strikers. Fair play to the big fella, he's got his Celtic career back on track when it looked like it was over at one stage.

I've been saying it for years: he is quality, and when it comes to the big European games - especially those crucial away games - he steps up to the plate.

In a nutshell, the higher level he is asked to perform at, the better he plays.
Those are the special players a team needs if they have real aspirations.

Well done again big fella. :50:

I know, and I'm getting worried.

Not like him to disappear when we win... whatever can have happened? :86:

Aye, I'm usually one of his more vocal naysayers, but tonight's performance was impeccable. Couldn't ask more from him. He played well in the home leg, as well.

I've been impressed that he's playing with his head up more, and it's helped his link-up play so much. He didn't get an assist tonight, but it almost came off for him a couple of times. :celt_2:

ok performance tonight , not amazing or spectacular like some of you guys think,he lost his man a few times they almost scored due to him not tracking back so his midfield game still needs pleanty of work
samaras has started to put in decent performances of late but i really would expect most players to score with that great pass from ledley from six yards out, and lets not forget this was helsinki we were playing against not barcalona but * it hes playing better than the gash we are used to seeing from him the past few years

You have to give bags of credit to the man, how many times do we see it in modern football for players to tuck tail and run when things are not going their way at a club. He had to put up with 2 years battling against his own bad performances and scathing comments from the MSM and our own fans.

The big * has stuck at it and proven many people wrong. I have never really been vocal on his * performances, just more wished he would one day perform well because I like many think we all knew he had it in him.

Delighted for the big man, not the most glamerous footballer to watch but his style completely frustrates opponents. Full of admiration for the big man and would love him to go one step further and become a Celtic Legend. He has the heart for it, thats for sure!
