Winning headers shouldn't even be a plus point. If he wasn't winning his fair share of headers, there's something seriously wrong. It's about all he can do. Also, they were always directed in behind him to no-mans-land when he knew (or should have known) there was noone behind him. Such a bad football player.

 

Lenny just needs to tell him to start giving 110%, or leave, i've stood up for Sammy for ages, ever since he got this new deal last season he has got worse, if he doesnt start playing good again, punt him.

 

I think we're about 3 years past that stage.

 

ok i stand corrected. i looked at his stats. he has 7 goals in his last 40 appearances. Only 3 have come in the leauge. granted he has been used off the bench a bit ,but against the quality of opposition its hardly awe inspiring form is it.

 

He worked harder than Stokes last night, but he just doesn't have it. The most infuriating player I have ever seen for the Hoops. I can't hate him though. I like him, but he just doesn't score enough goals or make the right decisions in games.

 

He should go on that Penn and Teller show because hes managed to fool 3 managers up here to get a contract he would be well on his way to Las Vegas.

What level of striker are we looking at here though? Are we looking for someone who can do the business in Europe? If so, I don't think we'll find that man.

 

Sammy is not the best player at times but the treatment he gets from so called fans is a disgrace, the cheers when he got took off last night made me and my brother ashamed of our fellow fans last night.

At end of he day any player who pulls on the hoops should get out 100% backing, not pick and choose who to support. Its been the same for years, if sammy misses a chance he gets dogs abuse but if paddy was to miss the same chance it would be oh unlucky paddy.

???? he was constantly behind the play. we had the ball in the wide areas and there would be 2 or 3 midfielders in the box and he would be about 35 yards from goal.

 

I just cant stick up for him anymore, he doesnt do anything. Stood up for him so many times, gave him so many chances, desperate for him to play the way i know he can, but last night i think i just had enough of the support i give him whilst getting nothing back from him in return.

I think it is time for him to move on and for us to get in 2 new strikers who can push stokes and hooper for their places.

 

i cant believe that some of our fans are defending sammy he is pish and has been pish for most of his celtic career. he doesnt score, isnt good in the air, doesnt try a leg why is he even at cp. i cant understand it. he lost us the league last season with that missed penalty at ibrox. a striker is purely judged on goals and sammy got a grand total of 6 last season all scored in 3 games says it all. its players like him that will cost lenny his job. lenny said in his interview that the fans should get of his back and be patient how patient should we be. he is a joke and i cant believe lennon gave him a new 3 year contract. sell sell sell

 

Samaras is definitely a scape goat for the fans, but there's no argument against him not being good enough. Sell.

Hard work and effort are the bare minimum a player should contribute. Im not convince Sammy even does that. As a lone striker too often he will wander about up top and make it easy for the defenders. Occasionally he will make an "effort" and have a big slide in an attempt to keep a ball in play. This is a smokescreen to let everyone think he is busy.

As a striker his heading is poor and often aimless. He is good at bringing the ball down, but instead of laying it off he regularly passes back the way or gives away possession.

And simply put, doesnt look like he is ever going to score. He is a scapegoat because he doesnt do enough. Stokes didnt have a good game last night, but playing left midfield when he was playing so well up front is a mystery.

Neil must learn from this. The crowd let their feelings know and all 51000 of them couldnt be wrong.

 

Someone said to me on here last week that Samaras isn't lazy.

He is gash. Nearly every single one of his headers simply bounced aff his napper. He never gives them anything. 4-5 times last night there actually was a few players around him and he still managed to head it as far as he could away from all of them.

He never looks interested, motivated or fired up. The biggest crime of all is he never seems hungry or passionate. Even when he scores.

He does have some talent, but you'd have to stick a firework up his * to motivate him.

He's the kind of lackluster player we don't need in this quick moving squad. He holds us back and holds us up when he plays.

Pure and utter gash.
