Very good game, although I don't understand why Lennon replaced him as he seemed like the only player who could create chances. Shame that his great dribble and pass to Hooper didn't result in a goal. Stokes should've started instead of Hooper and I think him and Samaras would've done much better.

Always seems to be at least solid in European games, often great. Hopefully he continues playing like this, pretty useful player to have when on form.

 

Good performance again last night, dare I say it he might just be finding the consistency we have been crying out for all along.

Maybe he was a left winger all along.

 

He played well again last night, he's done well last 4/5 games, but if a 2/3m offer came in I would still sell.

People who are hailing him as the Messiah need to remember the last 2 years.

 

Nice to see him playing well over a run of games. Hopefully his form continues to improve and he knocks in a couple of goals/assists in the next few games.

 

First 30 minutes he played out of his skin. I couldnt believe that this was the same player who has been so poor and inconsistent over the last couple of seasons.

Faded a bit in the second half but a top performance. Hope he can keep this up.

 

Think him fading in the second half had a lot to do with Udinese's excellent ball retention.

 

Couldnt agree more, also I think that he did so well in the first half that it would have been difficult to see it out for the full 90minutes at that level.

Samaras was really good again in the first half last night, I was impressed with him at half-time. He fell right out the game in the second half though.

Burley,the * that he is,actually spoke a bit of sense when summing up sammy and the reason we are frustrated with him.for 45 mins last night he was playing like a world class striker against a team joint top of prob the 3rd best league in the world yet week in week out he fails miserably against teams in the bottom half of the spl.get him to * the 1st chance we get.

 

Last night I found myself shoutin at the screen to give the ball to sammy! he was amazing last night and if he keeps up that kind of amazing form he'd be worth £6m in my opinion. That kind of quality is hard to come by.

I honestly can not believe I'm saying this about Samaras as he is * so often.

 

The guy is a top class player but with massive confidence issues. He needs our support.

if we had of played hooper and stokes against udinese we would of had nothing up front and thats exactly why we need sammy even if he dosen't do it against st mirren and inverness he is that cut above and on his day prob the biggest threat in our team and he has proved he can do it against the big teams in europe

 

Unreal in the 1st half on Thursday night but kinda faded off in the second. No doubt he is a top class player but I still cant bring myself to trust him to start, not even tomorrow. If he does, hopefully he puts in the same shift as what he did in Italy. Another thing I am fearful off is this recent form could see Stokes drop to the bench against the huns

 

I like the big guy and hope he keeps this good run of form up. We all know what he is capable of but its up to him to keep his head right.

I love nothing more than a good under dog story.

 

To be fair though, udinese just got better in the second half and the whole team faded. Sammy should be one of the first names on the team sheet ATM.

 

Needs to start scoring more goals. He does the least defensive work of our whole midfield so he needs to make more of an attacking contribution than any of them. But he's playing well just now. He deserves to stay in the team.

 

Every time we do play European opposition they always class sammy as being on of our biggest threats. They and we know what he can do, its whether he does it on a regular occasion thats been the problem.

What is interesting is as he has racked up a number of games on the trot he been been more consistent in his performances. Also he has found the position in which he plays best, hes not an out and out striker, Greece realised this and play him on the left, we have realised this and are playing him on the left.

Defenders do not like his unpredictability and also his strength and pace once he gets going.

 

Ooooooooohhhhh I hope he scores on the 28th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
