+1 couldn't really agree more, just because of his size & age people think he's this midfield general with plenty of experience.

What the * is it with experience & Lenny? Cos he doesn't have any as a manager & it didn't stop the board from hiring him.

You really do need a bit of pace as a DM, admittedly not as much as in other positions, but the SPL is fast paced & he has no idea of what the football is like up here. He had an offer from us 2 years ago & went to Hull to be relegated, I can't believe Lenny has him back up here 2 years later at 35 years old - I bet he still wants the same wages as was on offer then.

Jody Morris & Michael Duberry are at St Johnstone on a pitance for * sake, if Lenny wants EPL experience go get them - I bet they're on about 2 or 3k a week max.

Yeah there was an interview shown on SSN 10 mins ago with Boateng saying how great the club and the fans are.

 

I dunno... between him and Sol Cambell...

Are we building a team here or opening a retirement home?

 

How will we accomodate all of these midfielders as well if we get him, Ledley and Bullard?

I'm not too keen on him. I think there are other players that could do a better job. Maybe not on a free transfer but once you take in to account the wages Boateng would be on, it won't end up much more.

 

i think he maybe a back up player , but might slot into a 5 man midfield when we qualify for the group stages of the champions league

 

He will be a very effective signing IMO

 

Not the player we want. Peaked about 4 years ago with Middlesbrough. Will be 35 in September and if we sign Sol Campbell, 36 in September - by the way I bought milk today that is guaranteed to turn quicker then Sol, so we had better have a speedy defensive line to make up for his lack of pace - we will soon be known as Dad's Army. DON'T PANIC!! DON'T PANIC!! C'mon Celtic, plan for the future. Bring in players who have a hunger, not those past their best and looking to make a nice wee sum before they hang up their boots.

 

Sol was the 2nd fastest defender in the EPL last season.

 

What about Thompson,Rogne & Hooiveld ?? i believe Campbell can fetch these Bhoys on , as for Boateng what is wrong with an old hand in there steering the likes of Broony ect ??
