I doubt that he was outstading, he was good but lacked the heart to actually influence the game for us.

Was it not because Virgil got a red and we had to reorganise?

Keep GMS if Brendan sees something in him.

Never heard of that, maybe he wants him to get some game time and watch him if he is any use.

There is no real mention of Brendan's thoughts in the story locally here.

Just says that Utd approached us for a loan deal and that the player decided he wants to stay and force his way into Rodgers' plans.

He's a weird one GMS. At his best he is good enough to stay and fight for his place.

The problem is he is brutally inconsistent and when he's not on his game he's worse than a man down.

Looked good at Dundee Utd, but like many I've never rated him (unlike Armstrong, who I really did have hopes for), since he's been here and I could actually see a bit more of him. I don't think he's good enough; but if he's happy to stay and fight for a place, I hope he proves me wrong.

I think his biggest problem is an inability to play under pressure. He seems like one of those footballers who is happy to turn it on when we're 5-0 up, but doesn't have any sort of real leadership.

I can see why some people would think this, however away in the San Siro in arguably the biggest game he has played in for us, he was the exact opposite to what you have said. He was causing Inter all sort of problems until he was sacrificed (wrongly) after Van Dijk was sent off.

Seems like that was the exception rather than the norm.

I think we should keep him as back up to Sinclair , he's fast and could develop under Rodgers if given the chance. Would rather get rid of Armstrong and loan out Henderson or mcgregor.

Perhaps, but it does show that he can do it on a big stage. On the flip side of the coin, he was anonymous against Sevco in the cup semi, which is probably the next biggest game he has played in for us. He wasn't the only one that day though to be fair.

I was begging us to sign GMS about 2 years before we actually did. Captain Zoomer.
