I can't see it happening. He's 27 so he should be confident enough now to play his best football.

Difference with Armstrong and Brown was we all knew Ronny was playing Armstrong out of position and Brendan changed that almost instantly. Brown had a horrible time last half of last season. But we knew it was such a drop in form that there must've been something wrong with him. And true enough he came back fighting and playing even better which was more than expected but it wasn't a shock.

GMS has never really shown he will be the player for us that he was for UTD. He's had a couple of spells but his mentality seems weak and he bottles it too regularly to play at the level we require.

I've said this before but it needs reminding, two games he's been given a chance recently, St Johnstone away, we created a lot of chances and a confident player would have scored 3 goals and the game would have been won by half time. There was no coincidence we scored so many goals when he was subbed because the chances were still being created. Also was it St Mirren? A recent game he was given the first half and he didn't look threatening at all. He looked like the hardest worker on the pitch but that doesn't matter if your effort is producing nothing. We won the second half quite comfortably when he came off.

 

GMS will be one of the first players Brendan will want to ship out in the summer.

Would give him a run of starts beginning tomorrow night to see once and for all what is there, * knows sinclair and forrest could do with a rest for the huns anyway

Selling him asap is the best for both sides.

 

He'd stroll it at Abredeen I think. He's one of those players who's not good enough for Celtic but would probably be the best player for any other SPL team. I think a lower English Championship team would be a good challenge for him.

 

He wasn't even starting every game for Dundee United before we signed him.

Not sure how he'd get on at Aberdeen. Hayes and McGinn have a bit of dig and strength to their game. GMS certainly doesn't.

 

So you do like Jonny Hayes yourself ? .

 

I was under the impression that he, Armstrong and Ciftci were by far Dundee United's best players when we signed him.

 

He had periods when he was benched though, due to his inconsistency. When he was playing at his best he was their best player.

 

I still don't know why we bought him. Sometimes we seem to buy players because they are a good prospect.. But he was like 24! He should have been coming into his best years. He was never really good enough for Celtic.

With any luck, he will be a success at Aberdeen, or wherever he goes.

 

I think he's a decent player who has found his level at Aberdeen.

He's by no means good enough for Celtic.

Hammer used to hammer on about how GMS was the best thing since sliced bread at the time, I wasn't so sure.
Now he's changed his tune.
