My Dundee United supporting mate says us buying Armstrong made sense but GMS he thought was baffling.

Will end up at the sheep or Hearts. Nowhere near good enough for this current Celtic squad.

Utter diddy, no bottle or strength about him. Runs like a primary school boy with no desire about him.

He's just not good enough. I said it when we signed him.

No harm to the boy as he does try his best but Celtic isn't his level. Even when he does good things he somehow manages to mess up, like today when he closed one of their players down and won the ball, but as he was running through you just knew he would make the wrong decision or mess it up.

He can play a decent game here and there but Celtic need much better than that. You look at Sinclair today and he was almost invisible in the first half but he is someone who has the quality as seen by his goal, and you have that confidence that Sinclair can make an impact even when he's playing pish. GMS just doesn't inspire any confidence in me as a fan.

Unfortunately he just doesn't have what takes to be a Celtic player..

He's been given his chance after his injury and hasn't seized it like he needed to.

I don't actually think he'd get in either of their starting XI's, to be honest.

He actually had some ok play on the wing today but then everything he did when he got near the opponents box was rotten. Isn't going to be here next year and any playing time he may get between now and the end of the season should probably be going to a young player like Calvin Miller instead.

That's why I've been picking the likes of Mikey Johnston in my preferred lineups..

Totally agree with most of that..

He was the weak link in the team in the first half.

Frightening how much better we were today when Roberts replaced him.

I really worry about losing Roberts.

Looks totally bereft of any confidence and had an absolute mare. Wouldn't be surprised if that's the last time we see him in a Celtic shirt.

Yes I agree BB. I was over the moon with us getting Armstrong but a bit desperate looking on our part for GMS. I think he's a nice lad, just too nice on the pitch. He has good skills but no fight. But when he first signed his boots were on fire and I thought I had it wrong. But last season was a shocker for Armstrong but I knew he had a great football brain and vision. He has truly turned out to be worth the whole transfer fee for both players. Would have loved to see GMS succeed because we all love a player to take men on and some skill to boot. But the Wee guys confidence looks shattered at the moment.

I am not defending Gms as he was very poor in that first half. He has had some good games for us and is a good player but he is not the standard of player we want on the right hand side. We have that in Roberts and Forest. However he is a Celtic player and to tell him to GTF is not on. He is a squad player and has been playing because of injuries. During that first half today GMS was not the only one who was poor. Boyata's position for their goal and the fact he couldn't make a pass, Broony missing challenges and poor passing, Moussa missing a sitter, Sinclair not even in the game first half, even KT couldnt get past their fullback, list could go on. But no other player was getting the same a use as GMS.Because all our attacks were going down the right with GMS he was being made a scapegoat for us having a poor first half. He will be here until the end of the season if he plays then he needs the supporters behind him. You cannot fault his efforts so let's not turn on him or any other player like a fickle Hun would after the season they have given us so far.
