Gary Mackay-Steven was excellent against Hearts. He reminds me so much of Aiden McGeady but GMS has a better end product in my opinion. Sign him up!

We will seriously * regret it if we don't sign this pair. Clear out some of the deadwood that are draining our wages like murphy and mccourt and get these hungry, talented young boys in.

Possibly.. GMS is very very good. But that's at Dundee United. I've yet to see him perform well against a good team like us for example. Still though it's very possible he's better than Forrest.

    Definitely. They are gold dust.

Mackay-Steven looks like he is adding goals to his game which will do him no harm whatsoever. I'd happily get the two in.

they are both promising young players. Would like us to sign both of them and give them a chance to go on and improve as players. Both along with a couple of pkayers with european experience in key positions and Id be happy going into next season.

One positive when it comes to these two lads is we wont have to worry about seeing them in Hun kits anytime soon :56: And not just because Johnny is a Tim. However I think we will have to fend off some teams down south so the sooner we move for them the better.

I watched the Dundee Utd game today to watch them again and Dundee Utd were pish, Hearts were the better team and should have won. Dundee Utd couldnt keep a hold of the ball for 2 seconds and Mackay-Steven barely got a touch, I think 1 time he ran with the ball and done "the gaz getaway" or something the commentator called it :56: he flicked the ball over a players head ran round and kneed it over the next players then got barged down by Darren Barr, apart from the goal which was a good shot I think that was one of about 3/4 times he touched the ball.

Flood and Russell were the only two players in their team who held onto the ball and looked comfortable on it. The rest the ball was bouncing off Daly and Robertson and Kenneth, Neilson and Dillon were panicking and giving it away at every oppettunity giving them no hope of doing anything, anytime Flood or Russell tried to start a move one of those mentioned took a bad touch and lost it, passed the ball away or just panicked and booted it up the park to Daly who fouled a defender.

Game had great goals but the standard of play was utter pish.

The more I watch of GMS, the more I think we should snap him up in case we miss out. He might not be a first-team player to start with, we could consider buying him and loaning him back to United for a season. He seems to be progressing well there.

Dundee United say they have rejected offers in excess of £1m for two of their players from English clubs.

But the Tannadice outfit will not reveal the identities of the transfer targets and insist they are not under any pressure to sell.

However, BBC Scotland has learned that enquiries have been made about striker Johnny Russell, winger Gary Mackay-Steven and defender Gavin Gunning.

The trio impressed as United finished fourth in the Scottish Premier League.

With one match remaining, Russell has scored 14 goals this season, while Mackay-Steven has found the net five times and Gunning has pitched in with three goals.

Mackay-Steven is under contract until the summer of 2015, while fellow 22-year-old Russell has 12 months less to run on his deal, along with Irishman Gunning, 21.

United will see departures over the summer, with goalkeeper Dusan Pernis, defenders Gary Kenneth and Paul Dixon and midfielder Scott Robertson all choosing to leave under freedom of contract.

Midfielder John Rankin has agreed to stay on for another year after a good first campaign at Tannadice.
