So true , iv lost count of players that have come from big clubs playing in good leagues that have turned out to be average or dissapionting graverson, jarosik, donati ect.

If their good enough sign them. Don't want a other fletcher / McCarthy situation .

I am not sure we would go for another centre half with Lustig and Wanyama being able to play there, big Dan or Loovens will get another year as cover too. Midfield is stocked, with Commons, Ledley and Samaras playing left mid, Forrest McGeough, McCourt, Izi able to fill in.

I can't see Russell really needed now although he does look a talent. Mo Bangura will get a run injury permitting.
If Brozek doesn't stake a claim I'd like us to spend all our budget on a target man and a keeper signed on.

Really nice to thing with a trimmed squad we would have a chance to let the young players like Twardzik and McGeouch stake a claim for the team. Even Ibrahim get a chance.

When you look at all the players in the squad for positions it just emphasises how much we need to offload players as Lennon suggested recently.
We should be paying off all our debt with a reduced squad and hopefully European money while we can.

How much do you believe Russell and Mackay-Steven would be valued at?
    Rus- 2m
    M-S -1m

Least we don't need to have an auction over spl players with Rangers now!

I reckon a 6m out lay this summer, Forster 2m and 4m on a centre forward.
Even their wages can be supplemented by other players leaving.
Get our talented players signed up on longer contracts.

IMO we should only be looking to sign players that are better than we currently have!

We should be forcing our own players to improve - not by signing players who can do a job in the spl, but who can do a job in Europe, who have experience and who can help to improve our current squad through their own ability, experience, mentality, etc, etc...

    Will these 2 do that???

The question is ,Are they better than what we have ? 2 Good players who would be excellent for Celtic in the SPL ,but for Europe ,im not to sure.

With the point on Europe; how will we know if we never try? Both have (maybe mostly Russell) impressed against the Dutch for Scotland and don't go AWOL in big matches. What's the point wondering when we could be signing them, before Blackpool or someone puts a bid in.

Just thinking if we got them we'd have some team in the future mixing in with Watt Forrest and Mcgeouch

Just noticed on twitter earlier both Gary and Johnny were congratulating Tony Watt on his goals, now I know Johnny is a massive Tim anyway but maybe that's a sign of them both getting to know Watt a bit better in months to come?

Maybe i'm reading into it but I know the club showed interest in both of them in January and they wouldn't be even making comments like that if they weren't interested at all, would they?

If we took that into consideration then Jody Morris could be on his way to Celtic as well.
