think that's some great shouts there, Valderrama. highly unlikely that we'd be able to bring in Zanka and Rhodes due to finances but if we did all the business that you've suggested, we'd dominate the SPL and make some serious progress in Europe imo.

Signing players like this is a HUGE risk, look at some of the 'big name' players that have come here and flopped, this pair are proven in the SPL and would lap up the transition no settling in to a new country, no language barrier and most importantly two high calibre players for the price of one.

whats Bangura done wrong :( apart from be injured most of the season lol

Id like to get both of them in although Im unsure on how they would do in europe. Are they the kind of quality of players that would give us that extra bit of class to reach the group stages and perform well? Still very inexperienced the both of them.

He couldn't lace McGeady's boots, he is a similar type of player but has nowhere near the ability. Its only one game but in the recent u21 game I saw him in Mackay-Stevens looked like he couldn't handle the step up and if he can't handle the dutch u21's he certaintly can't handle Europe.

I think Mackay-Steven blows hot and cold, looks amazing some games though.

agree, he also struggled agaisnt slask wroclaw when he was subbed into that game. right now he would be a good player ot have in the spl but would imo struggle to make an impact at the champions league level. Thats not to say that he wouldn't add anything to the team but I think i would rather give game time to some of the boys in the youth setup.

If our ambition next season is to keep our hold on Scottish football then yes they will be good signings.if we want to have a realistic chance of getting to the CL we need better.

If we are being serious here I doubt either would get near our team at the moment.also how many young spl players have we signed that have actually went on to have a good career with us.we tend to find out that they can't cope with the demands

If we keep on to the players we have just now we will win the league next season, we are always gonna have the players to compete spl level whereas if we want to do anything at all in Europe we need to be signing better players.

Dont get me wrong i'd definitely sign them both and they could do a good job for us especially McKay-steven who i think is the better of the two and will turn out a cracking little player. Although we need to be aiming for a higher caliber of player if we want to get anywhere in Europe.

Our best players at the moment were:
    -Newcastle reserve
-signed for free from Cardiff (Ledley and Matthews)
-signed from Montagua. A mid table team in a * league in Honduras
-signed from Scunthorpe who were in League 1 (I think)
-signed for nothing from a mid-table team in Norway
    -signed for free from Aberdeen
-signed from Hibernian (Brown and Stokes)
-signed from a decent team in Israel
-signed for £1m from a mid-table team in Belgium

If the player is good it doesn't matter who the * we sign them from.

Please please please..at least Johnny Russell..we know hes a die hard Tim and hes like Sammy in that hes versatile enough to play up front or out wide. If we got Mackay-Steven as well then I would just be overjoyed. Signed them both in my FM :50:

Not sure about Gordon..need FF signed up for good.

But if we did get the two Dundee Utd. lads Celtic would have the attackers of the future for the Scottish national team when you add those two to Forrest.

I think we will sit tight on Russell for another season. He won't get much game time with the forwards we have, Mackay-Steven as well isn't ready.

I thought Dixon if any at Utd looked good, excellent at Ibrox in the cup, great delivery, long throw.
I'd rather have got him than El Kaddori(sp) as cover, what a waste of wages and loan fee he was! Apart from a shot that squirmed under McShagger

too true. i don't know why people keep harping on about marquee signings that have vast CL experience under their belts. the fact is, most of our CL success stories have come from unknowns from clubs lower in stature than us.

I would be delighted if both signed. I really like the look of Mackay-Stevens. Looks a real skillful, direct winger. I like the thought of him and Forrest on each wing next season, especially late in games. They would really stretch tight games, plus with the quality of our squad he will be allowed time to bed in and improve at training everyday.

Russell looks like he's the real deal. Bring him in is what I say. He will score goals for us and add to an already impressive front divison. Though I would still like us to sign him and a big, physical front man like Best, Molina or Rhodes.

As for the keeper issue. I think we all want big FF in, but if he declines to sign on, I've always rated Gordon. I think, if he passes a medicial, he's the best thats out there in our budget. I like the look of Cammy Bell, but tbh, that's from his performances against us. Gordon has big game experience over him. Though his health is clearly a worry.

What I will say is I'm looking forward to this window. For the first time in a few years, I don't ssee the need for drastic surgery on the squad, and the first team. IMO, the only must signings are getting Forster signed, or a keeper if he declines the move. Also a Target man striker is required to give us another option and look to opposition. Maybe a experienced Centre Half, though if we start next season with Charlie, Rogne, Wilson and the Polish lad, I feel this would go enough to lift 2IAR. Though maybe not enough in Europe.
