I reckon we'll regret it in the future if we don't sign Russell now.

 

Johnny Russell's good value at £2million. He'd net 20 goals easily. On a goal a game at the minute, although Watt is on 2 If he goes to Everton he'll be worth a fortune in 2 years.

Makes sense to bring someone in who knows the league inside out.

 

Like we have Fletcher. We should have signed him when we had the chance.

Russell, Fletcher and McCarthy are the 3 best players to come out of the SPL diddy teams in recent years, all 3 tims and we might be missing out on Russell having missed the other 2

 

Surely we'll bring him in now that Bangura's off to AIK on loan. We only have two strikers available with Stokesy injured - three if you count Sammy, who's more of a winger.

 

I imagine that as soon as the helsinki game is finished and when (okay if ) we have qualified, we will see a lot of movement before the Friday deadline. Lenny must have a few condition verbal offers out there advising that as soon as the money becomes available, we will table bids.

This is the perfect time to bring him in, with no rangers in the league he won't be under as much pressure to hit the ground running and will get a lot of games between now and the end of the season. He is well within our price range and the fact he is home grown and a Celtic fan makes it even better. Better spenidn 2M on him who you now can cut it in the SPL than take a risk on a Bangura.

If we go through on Wednesday, I don't think Lenny will even give himself time to celebrate, or digest, but rather will be making phonecalls and doing whatever these guys do behind the scenes making things happen, and there's no way Russell can't be high on that list. Hopefully we'll get the news as a wee hangover cure on Thursday morning.
