Granted we don't have the budget we did under MON but FFS - spl players???

Also, how do we expect to;

Prepare for Europe if we play against dross every week (through signing the best of the rest)
Promote the league when it's that much of a one horse race
Compete in Europe with decent spl players in team

If these guys are that good then the other diddy teams will improve through playing against them, thus meaning they are raising their game against other teams - not just us - ergo better standard overall...

Too many reasons NOT to sign them IMO...

Steven Fletcher, Scott Brown, Mulgrew, McArthur and McCarthy are just some of the players who have played in the SPL and are doing well at a higher level now. Discounting a player simply because they play in this league is nonsensical.

 

Agree....If they are good enough...good coaches will make them better...no matter from were they originate..imported players don't always have the desire...Johnny Russell would be a agreat investment and an exciting young prospect

 

If we are looking for a target man then what's wrong with Jon daly of under utd I think he os a cracking big player and would be a great foil for hooper or watt or even stokes

 

If I was looking for a sort of target man from the spl I would prefer Sutton thought he gave the liverpool defence a hard time on Thursday and has more to his game than daly
Think with Russell although I like him he is too similar to what we have so only consider him if stokes or hooper we're to leave

I think he would be a great addition. He stands his ground wins lots of headers scores and creates goals could also be used as a cb.

 

Bet this guys glad we didn't sign Steven Fletcher when we had the chance.

I just cant see it happening. I reckon he will be given a much better deal somewhere else!

 

We'll regret not signing russell in the years to come. Great player, great potential. Keep quality within scottish football.
