Actually phrased that wrong. Commons has a great dig but MS has amazing skill and ball control. Commons is simply appaling at keeping possession, especially on the right. Very slack IMO. Makes me appreciate more how good Naka was.

These boys are now probably beyond our price range for value.

I can't see us giving DUFC what they want, but Wigan etc... will.

Bring through our own bhoys, as these 2 won't improve the 1st team.

No more squad fillers, as good as they are (potentially).

if we don't buy and strengthen we are again letting the support down, the supporters have once again dug deep, the team has played together now going on 3 years and Lennon still cant tell us his ideal team, we all know we are a bad team
and struggle, we have got players that are worth well, not very much up for sale, but it is the better players that we do have, we seem to be wanting to sell. can any one name our 11, and the idea about rotation, still doesn't work as there are some crap players always seem to manage a game.old pals act

I agree with Hairytoes, but i would put a bid in for Mackay-Steven. £800,0000, not a penny more. Dundee Utd need the cash. Stokes and Hooper get 40-50 goals a season between them. If we wanna get money for Bangura, we need to find a way to get him in the team.

Bangura will come into the fray this season.

Last year the backroom staff sorted out Samaras' game. Remember, before that he never won anything in the air, they brought that out of his game. Hopefully they have been sorting out Bangura, we forked out decent money on him so we should start to see a return on him. It's about bringing one or two players through.

I just want a defender or two and Henriksen, for a lot less than the reported 2.5 million pound fee that was banded around.

This is the reason the deals are gonna happen right at the end of the transfer window.

I dunno, it's hard to judge. He's hardly played, spent most of last season injured and with Stokes, Hooper and Sammy in the team it's difficult to come into a game for the last ten minutes and set the game on fire.

He looks a little bit awkward in front of goal but that doesn't mean he won't improve.

This year we will have less pressure in the league, so we'll have time to bed him in.
Once he gets his first goal, the rest will follow. It might be that he needs to start games and their will be games when it's quite safe, but we need to team him up with a strike partner, maybe young Watt.

Start with Hooper and Stokes, then bring on Watt one game, Bangura the next.

It's just a thought, but maybe he can get 10 goals this season, then fifteen the next. As a bench warmer that would be a decent start and we would get some money back for him.

thing is murphy looks awkward in front of goal and he is not good enough said the same thingabout him when he signed, and people said the same thing about him give him time ect and did he not say something about getting 20 goals or something?

Really don't see bangura doing anything for us his touch is shocking and finishing does not look the best as well, IMO he is not going to challage hooper or stokes for a first team spot and we have wasted a reported 2-2.2 million on him.

really don't see us getting anything near the ammount we paid for him never mind him getting 10-15 goals a season

He's inexperienced, but who knows what the season will bring.

Bangura is an absolute flying machine. He's also unbelievably good in the air. His decision making looks sloppy. He also has a heck of a shot on him. He doesn't have the finesse in placement when finishing than say Hooper has. Hooper is slow. He has a burst of pace over a short distance. Don't expect Hooper to win anything on defensive duties, Bangura likes to steal the ball off defenders.

I've watched videos of Bangura playing *, where he simply chose the wrong option, and videos where he's been dynamite.

He's not the player for playing the ball into feet, then collecting the ball with his back to goal. He's the player to get on the end of crosses and to play on the break.

In a nutshell, the target man everyone says we should go out and sign. He hangs in the air like Henke used to. But he lacks the game intelligence. Because Hooper is * in the air, we don't swing in early crosses, with Bangura playing right up top, he can do this.

It might be worth loaning him out, but i reckon Lenny sees the potential and that is why he's still there.

I'm afraid we are going to be rather disapointed if Celtic decide to follow your strategy of offering peanuts for talented young players.

Mackay Steven is a serious talent and Dundee United have shown they will not sell their major players for less than the going rate. I would expect the bidding to start at 1.5 million and end somewhere closer to the fee Blackburn paid for Goodwillie, which would wipe out more than half of the Unt debt and still leave them with the core of a potentially exciting young side - including Russell, Daly and Gunning, whose sales would wipe out the debt completely.

And even if they were willing to accept £800,000 from other sides I am certain they would not accept similar bids from us, given that we one of their main competitors.

Meanwhile, Henrikson is one of the most highly rated youngsters in Scandanavian football, is already a full Norwegian international, and has been linked with teams like Wolfsburg and Everton. If anything, we would probably have to pay closer to 3 million than 2.

i doubt GMS will go for as high as £2m considering his contract is up next summer. no doubt Russell will go for that kind of fee but not GMS.

GMS is contracted until 2015 unfortunately. He's had a few good games against Rangers and all of a sudden it's £2million. He's good going forward but isn't good defensively, hence why United just leaked so many goals in the Champions League qualifier.

If Henriksen was worth the money, someone would have met their valuation for the player. They haven't so it's down to negotiation and i think the fee would be more like 1.3 - 1.7 million.

Apparently we had a bid of 1.5 million knocked back for Mackay Steven in January and i'm not so sure if i believe that. If that's the case we won't be signing him because we don't have much money to throw around.

What we do have is the money that we are guaranteed from Europa League, because we know that's definitely happening.

Classic example is Bangura, they had no idea how much he was worth, came up with a random number, we paid it and haven't seen any benefit of that yet.

I just think that Mackay Steven isn't as good as Samaras and Samaras has played at the highest level, everywhere, Dutch league, English Premiership, Euros, World Cup, Champions League, Europa League. So we'd be signing a bench warmer, and bench warmers aren't worth £2million. Sammy is worth what? £3.5 million and still only 27.

Mackay Steven is worth £500,000 on the transfermarkt website, has won nothing and comes with no guarantees, especially in Europe.

We get held to ransom all the time.

David Goodwillie was the big star a while back and how did he figure at the highest level. He flopped big time.

The market has changed and whereas you'd want to go and sign players at their peak, it's all about youth and the sell on value and i reckon we have enough of that and we could be doing with one or two players with European experience who have played in one of the top leagues.

Not someone for 2million, who happened to run over the top of Inverness Caley Thistle.

What you do is put a bid in and let everyone know that you have put a bid in and see what happens.

if he hangs in the air like the king of kings i would have seen this, like i said i have not seen anything that will show he will make it at celtic i understand you have good a good grasp of his play but someone done all this about murphy when we signed him on here i said the same thing and people said that's harsh ect.....

i just don't see this boy being a player at celtic at all, or the reason he is still at celtic is the fact no-one wants him and we don't have the money to go out and get another forwar in and that's why murphy is still here as well
