if we are not willing to spend big money on a targe tman then daly would be perfect for us and with the crosses we put in box i would be shocked if he did not score close to 20 goals a season

I cant see either of them greatly improving us tbh other than adding abit more depth.

I rate Dundee United and hope they finish 2nd but I don't want any of their players or quite frankly any SPL players, let them develop and we should aim for higher pedigree. :50:

Just because they are spl players and ply their trade in scotland they should not be ruled out. We have missed out on a few really good players by not taking the chance to get them before they are taken to england. Both these guys are talented and at a very good age.

Would you not try get james forrest if he was at a st mirren or kilmarnock? should we have not resigned a certain charlie mulgrew? a certain steven fletcher is now a £12+ striker. Doesnt always have to be foreign talent when we have it right here smacking us in the face. These two lads ran their last two games. It shouldnt be ignored.

That's just my opinion and I do recognise there are gems but in the positions I want us to strengthen in, that must be prioritised ahead of a young smallish striker and a left winger, there are no SPL players I want us to purchase and who I believe could help us qualify for the Champions League. Certainly not Zaliukas and Jon Daly for example...

People are stating that Russell is too similar to what we already have and although they are right in that he is not a target man, he is actually different in that he has pure pace which Hooper and certainly Stokes do not have. Not to mention being left footed which is also nice for a bit of diversity.

Russell was just one short of Samaras turnover in assists last season, and that's playing for Dundee United. Just imagine the lad for us...he'd be a far better outlet than the Greek. Scored more than twice what Georgios did, too.

    No-brainer.

I'd take Russell as he's better than any of our front men with the exception of Hooper.

Sorry but I've seen nothing to suggest he'd outscore Stokes.

To me "he's better than any of our front men other than Hooper" suggests differently.

That video should prove to anyone what they could bring to the team. It also shows what Jon Daly could bring to us. I would like all three but I think we will only end up with one of them next season.

Well, that's up to you but I don't see it that way at all. Russell's a very clever player and has the pace to play out wide of a front 3. Just what we're needing if we're not going with a target man.

In fact, do you think Utd would agree on a straight swap (discounting wages)?

    I don't.

If we offered them a straight swap for Stokes? I don't see why they wouldn't - unless they were desperate for cold hard cash.

Russell is good, and has an abundance of potential, but I'd still have Stokes over him everyday of the week.

Neil Lennon would never in his wildest dreams even entertain the notion of bringing Jon Daly anywhere near this football club. And thank *.
