I'd take gms 100% could get him for about 850,000, think once or if we get in to the champions league well spend about 6m plus think we could sell ki so use some of that to.

I think United would play hardball about GMS but they'd be daft to do so as he only has a year left and he has been playing so well that he and everyone else will know that he will have loads of offers. They should sell him while they can get some money. He could sign a pre-contract in January I think.

From what I've seen of GMS, if we got rid of a midfielder or two, I would take him.

    -----------------------forster-----------------------

    --matthews--------lustig--------mulgrew---------izzy

    forrest------broony-------Mackay Steven----Samaras/commons

    -----------------hooper------------russell-------------------

that would be the spl team midfield and strike force, dont know about europe

now for europe section,no way would russell play as we would use either sammy or hooper up there on there own in my opinion.

    --------------------forster-----------------

    matthews,(New-CB)----Mulgrew-------izzy----

Forrest-----Broony----Wayamha-----Mackay-steven/or a player with plenty speed!

    -------------------Samaras--------------------

    ------------------------Hooper/or CL striker-----------

That would be my 11 for the Champions league-Group-Stage-Group-with new players in,like new centre back, new Left winger and striker with Champions League experiance Thats if we get to the champions league group stage, which i think we will as long as we score 1st in finland 1-3 and get a good draw in the last quaiflier.

Who Could we get? after Helsinko on agg 5-2 celtic

But I'd Buy They Players as they would be great in the spl and cup games in scotland easy!

With the players we've got just now I don't think we need GMS, this season anyway. In his case, there's no point in us splashing out if he's going to come here and be 2nd or 3rd choice behind Samaras and Commons.

Ideally if we came to an agreement that he would sign a pre-contract in January, that would be a brilliant piece of business. That way we would be getting an excellent young prospect for nothing, he would have another season building his experience at Dundee Utd and we'd have an ideal replacement if Samaras or Commons decide to move on at the end of the season or if we decide to cash in one of them.

I'd take Russell right now though as I see us as only having 2 decent strikers, Bangura and Murphy are simply not good enough. Not saying Russell is better than GMS but just now i'd think he'd have a far better chance of getting games for us.

Its a nap KI will go but i want £8/£10m,Yes I know thats greedy but Premiership teams will pay that+Hes worth every penny too!

Also I can see McCourt and McGeouch(On Loan) going.

I really hope Ibhraim gets his act together but he'll not get in before McCourt or Dylan if they are still around but if he trains hard you just never know, anyway i'd defo get Mackay steven in,great player, use him in the spl and a 5 man midfield in europe!

That would be a shocking midfield for the SPL. We struggle at times when we play 2 attacking wide players as it more often than not leaves 3 v 2 in the middle of the park. Playing 3 wingers and Brown who isn't exactly a defensive midfielder would be disastrous.

Even if don't necessarily need them to win the league, we'll win it any way, I think we should sign them. Both are exciting players and we should always attempt to have the best players available for the fans.

I'd take both of them if we got them for a decent price. I'd be worried that Stokes is of a similar ability to Russell though.

Agreed. That had nothing to do with Celtic.

Riordan has proved he is just a waster.

A great player as well, such a waste.

No idea why any Celtic fan is talking seriously about us signing either player when it is obvious the positions that should be prioritised in terms of transfers.

    Well, centre back and striker.

Russell is very effective as a striker.

Agree with you about Mackay-Steven though. Don't even think he is as good as the players we have already for that role, never mind a priority signing.

As I already stated I hope they both have great seasons and develop further at Dundee United, Russell is not the quality we need for Champions League qualification right now anyway but who knows? Next summer he may very well arrive here with Stokes heading out the opposite direction.

I think Russell would be a perfect foil for hooper if we are not going down the target man route. Russell has a gem of a left peg, works his * off when not in possession and does the leg work in the flanks and coming short. Lennon tried to sign him last season and I can see him trying again. Great wee player and its a bonus hes celtic through and through. need more players like that in the celtic team! They tend to give more when it matters!
