No chance of a 6 month loan? We can pay handsomely and that's the 3rd striker sorted.

Be happy to take him as a third choice and I reckon he may even be happy to be our third choice now

He's on fire now another double here today so far only HT.

Only took him about 3 years to prove he made the right decision.

Had scored about 2 different goals in his life. Some striker tho always in right place, and has a eye for a pass too.

His 1st there is similar to 90th at tannidie in he dougir macdonald scandal

Two good goals. Wish he stayed here for longer. The partnership of him and Stokes was unreal at times. They had a great understanding.

The grass isn't always greener. I think he would jump at the chance to come back, but I might be wrong. When Dembele goes we need to get another good striker in.

Hooper has been here and done it, but then again he was the one that wanted to go so on the other hand I think * him. Thought he would be better of down there in getting an England call up but look how that went.

Ship has well sailed with Gaz Hooper, he won't be the type to still be firing in the goals when he's 34+ either. Never had that athletic build/work ethic, always took him a few games to get up to speed.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY face a fight to keep striker Gary Hooper.

The former Celtic star is a January target for Crystal Palace, West Brom and Brighton having scored eight times this season.

Seven of those goals have come in the last seven games and Hooper – who arrived from Norwich for £3million in January 2016 – would cost about £6m.

Hooper, 29, has grabbed 20 goals in 43 League starts for Wednesday who are currently 12th in the Championship.

He netted twice in the Owl’s 3-0 win against rivals Leeds earlier in the month.

Palace are in dire need of reinforcements after losing their seven Premier League games.

Hooper would be a welcome addition up front and could add the goal power needed to keep the Eagles up.

Roy Hodgson took over from the axed Frank de Boer but has yet to see any improvement in results.

West Brom are also on the hunt for a striker but have also been linked with a move for Benik Afobe.

Brighton could also make a move for Hooper, while a move for Newcastle outcast Aleksandar Mitrovic could be on the cards.

Fair play. That 2 years in the wilderness with Norwich was unfortunate along with injuries and a manager who had an abundance of strikers but didn't know what to do with them! Hoops has that sniff of goal and gets the head down. Canaries were the wrong move but good luck to Gary in the future. And I think this price tag is fair enough at current market.

Think he would've be brilliant under Brendan if he got him up to speed as an athlete..

Hodgson was calling him up for England before he got injured so Palace would make sense..

His career choice just shows you the grass isn’t always greener.

That match we ended up losing 4-2 at the shitput (yeowww Badr El Kaddouri)

That goal Hooper scored was an absolute world class finish, its one of the best goals I've ever seen.

Norwich where willing to meet the price along with QPR and for some reason hooper picked Norwich which I said at the time struck me as the wrong move although QPR aren’t exactly world beaters at the time, I remember reading Redknapp was gutted he missed out on him! Still got us well over double our money back, best of luck to him!

I think he'll always struggle to be at his best as part of a weaker side in a tough league, particularly when those side often play one up front. I know he finished as Norwich's top scorer in his first season, so maybe struggle is the wrong word, but he won't reach his best form under those circumstances.

He's the kind of guy you basically want playing within about 25 yards of goal with players around him and running off him, very few teams around the bottom end of the EPL are good enough to get that kinda support to him. He'll still get goals mind, his finishing ability is outstanding.
