    From BBC:

Metro reports that Tottenham are believed to have joined the race for Celtic contract rebel Gary Hooper, 24. Norwich City have had a £5million bid for the former Scunthorpe striker rejected while Liverpool and QPR are also thought to be keen.

Really don't want Grant Holt. Not that he's a bad player, he just doesn't fit in with the transfer model we utilise (buy young & cheap and sell on at a profit).

I don't understand why Hooper would want to leave now with Juve coming up soon. If we weren't in the CL then ok, understandable that he'd fancy a crack at the Premiership. He could move to a bigger club than Norwich too.

I don't believe that story, I would say he has been offered a wage that makes him one of the highest earners. Celtic want him to sign a new deal and then sell in the summer, not offering him wages comparable to other high earners wouldn't make sense. That bit of the story is a lie I'd say.

    I'm surprised he wasn't offered something close to Ledley's wage - i understand he's on around £25k p/w.

Hopefully the Spurs link is pure speculation.

Many players rush to the call of a supposedly ˝better league˝, but when they come...the bench rot starts. Hooper must know that he will be viewed as inferior in any English club he goes to, since he's coming from SPL:

If he goes then I hope the following happen:

    1. He signs a new deal and stays beyond January, to leave in the summer
    2. That we get a fee of at least £8m
    3. That he goes to a team that are in the upper regions of the EPL.

Sadly, if this Spurs rumour is true, then I think he will leave pretty soon.

I find it hard to believe that we haven't offered him top wages, but if Spurs do come in for him then he'll definitely go, and it's a club that I could accept losing him to and wish him all the best.

"In today's press conference, Neil Lennon says he's "pretty confident" Gary Hooper will still be a Celtic player by the end of the transfer window. He had talks with his agent earlier."

well by all accounts it looks like celtic and lawell have handled this pretty badly

we should have given him equal top earner status an extra couple of years and sold him on in the summer

it looks like were trying to take advantage as he's supposedly a bit daft

Looks to me like they dont really give a * if he stays and are hiding it from the fact they are looking at the guy from Burnley already made their mind up to cash in

I've always had a real soft spot for Spurs; if he's going to go then I really hope that it's to them.

    How does it?

It sounds more like his agent is messing us about.

The assumption that he has already left on Twitter/Facebook is annoying as *.
