Scored 19 goals in the Championship last season in 31 games, not too shabby especially playing for a team flirting with relegation :50:

The thing is Lenny knows about the Scottish game, unlike Mowbray did, and Lenny will have a fair old idea what will work in the SPL, and what won't work. We should not allow ourselves to be held to hostage by SPL chairman wanting £3M + for their players.

Having just seen that youtube goal I'd say he looks more like your "keep the ball on the deck" type of player.. I read "hitman" in the SUN article above and was thinking target man but I don't think that's the guys game judging by his size.. He's 5 foot 9 and a half...

Robbie Keane - Will Score goals, he is a world class player and a huge signing for us and is experinced

Hooper - Might score goals, been at scunny for ages, wud * himself on CL nights, dont think he is a 30 goal a season striker we really need

if people are so bothered about resale value does that mean your would prefer that we never signing larsson because he left on a free?

Scott McDonald wisnae exactly a big name signing and look how well he done for us, wish we'd * kept him! :31:

Aye, should have but seemed to know nothing. He was to busy living in dream land trying to play like barcelona. It was never going to happen with the quality of player we can attract these days. On another note, I really am hoping Hooper is the answer to all of our goals scoring problems. I cant face another season like the last one.

I think the bit in bold is way over the top.

He is /was a good player & is still head & shoulders

above just about anyone outside the epl in britain

The bit in itallics says you had a drink me thinks:icon_mrgreen:

In case it doesn't show in itallics it is the bit about larsson

He probablly has'nt signed hope he does though he's a goal scorer and im sure he'll partner one of our 4 other strikers although Sammy does tend to be playing as a winger.

World class? Nope, if he was he'd be in the Tottenham team ahead of Defoe and Crouch. Great player but world class, no chance. In saying that of course he'd be a huge signing for us and would get 30+ goals a season, not doubting that for a second I just don't think we should be blowing all our money on one player.

Hooper - Might score goals, been at scunny for ages, wud * himself on CL nights, dont think he is a 30 goal a season striker we really need

He's only been at Scunthorpe for 2 seasons so don't no where you're getting 'ages' from. He scored 19 goals last season for a team that just survived relegation in a league of similar standard to ours so there's a good chance he'll improve on that with us. Not to mention he's only 22 so plenty of time to get CL experience.

if people are so bothered about resale value does that mean your would prefer that we never signing larsson because he left on a free?

Eh? Don't see you're logic behind that, doesn't even make sense.

We signed Larsson when he was 25 and could have sold him for HUGE money at any point in his first 5/6 years here if we wanted too.

Your talking about spending crazy money on a 30 year old Robbie Keane where there's absolutely no chance of a return.

I hope this is true- the guy was lethal for a team who generally didnt create a lot of chances in the league they are in - he is fast and has good ability on the ball and technically a good finisher.

We paid about £3.5 for a striker who didnt have any sort of scoring record so I think this one is a good deal.

He is young and will have a sell on value and it looks like that seems to be a trend in all lennons signings, if they perform well we will make a lot of money out of these guys if they decide they want to move on in 3/4 years....

Don't start to slate the guy before hes even signed nevermind kicked a ball for us.
Alot of people here are saying getting Bellamy or Keane..........

Craig Bellamys playing career started lower league at Norwich and then to Coventry!!

Robbie Keanes playing career started at Wolves before going to Coventry!!

SO, maybe just maybe Neil Lennon is finding the next big star without having to play the MASIVE amount of money that Bellamy and Keane can demand now.

And Just to throw in Dean Ashton started lower league aswell and if his career wasnt cut short by injury im sure we loved to sign a player of his quality:50:
