Haha, they are getting quite uppity over on that forum aren't they. Completely ignoring the fact that, even if their club is willing to pony up the cash, Hooper doesn't seem to want to leave.

Besides, if the SPL is * compared to the Championship, then the Championship is * compared to the EPL. If English clubs really wanna sign Hooper, then a bigger club than Southampton will step in and brush them aside.

Whether Hooper stays at Celtic remains to be seen - but his destination will not be the south coast.

Anyway, we wont accept an offer from them, and even if we did, hooper wouldnt want to move. Whether we are in the spl or not doesnt matter, from us to them is a major step down. They are dross.

If hoops goes then the board will have a * storm on it's hands. There is no way it's star player will be sold, at least not for 3-4 years IMO

So if they plan on it then they better make sure they have a world beater as replacement because I don't think we supporters will be happy.

There are better players out there than Hooper who would cost less than £6m, for sure. Not that I would want to sell him right now, though.

If itv was the summer window I would say negotiate for 8M, but to sell hooper in january would be crazy!! Team is settled and on good form for the title. Hoopers a big part of that, lets not risk that at any price!

We bought Hooper, Wanyama, Izzy, Stokes and Kayal in "Today's market". There are better players out there than Hooper for well under £6m.

Javier Hernandez only cost United £6m for example. No prizes for guessing who is better value for money.

Again selling hooper in the jan transfer window would be a very stupid thing to do. No chance is lenny going to risk replacing him in january. Having said that I wouldn't fancy trying to replace him in the summer eithier!!

Personally as a saints fan, I wouldn't want us to * £6million on Hooper. Just can't see it happening.

I wouldn't sell him right now, either. All I'm saying is that you could get someone better than Hooper in for well under £6m.

Straight from the horses mouth. Papers had it at around £7m but that was a guesstimate.

for me, they need to add another £1.5m to that figure to even coax into talking.

    no sale for me.

    Broony!
    First off - * Nooooooooooooo!!!

Hooper is young and score goals! AND is worth way more than £6m!!!

He produces on a regular basis and has shown he can score against all comers; huns, Europe, etc - he's a definite keeper!

Also - those thinking we can or can't find another ST who could produce as well as, if not better than Hoops for less than £6m...

Yes we could but we would need to be very careful about where we shop...

After all, we have an english non league team wanting £1m for a player!!!

The english market is crazy and definitely NOT the place to go shopping - unless you're lucky enough to pick players up on bosmans, pre contracts, or last few months of contract.

It appears that our scouting net has been cast far & wide and, so far, has produced some incredible results - I'm sure that will continue to be the case!

Getting back to the OP - and reiterating the above - HOOPER IS NOT FOR SALE!!!

If any club out there want a Celtic striker, they can have Ras or Murphy - I'll even gift wrap them! :icon_mrgreen:

    Hail Hail
