Southampton you are pish I will Gladly watch you struggle for a play off place! A team thats won 2 out of their last 8 Games does not deserve to be top of a league, just shows how bad the Championship has been so far this season! Southampton fans say Scottish football is pish yet they jump at the chance of taking our second rate players and now want Hooper ...

I would sell Hooper at the right price but not in January when replacements are sky high. I'd be happy to sell him for £6/7 million in the summer if £5 million went on a top quality Champions League striker.

To any Southampton fan looking over to slate us sign our rejects all you want but our main players f-off :bbpd:

We will not sell Hooper in Jan. If he does leave it will not be untill the summer as we do not need any money we are financially sound (not as some of you think broke) and we are not going to break up our team in the middle of a season.

Hail Hail, up the hammers :50:

This is all getting rather immature over a rumour that's a complete non-starter.

15 points behind and its the current form that counts looks like your team has burnt itself out going by recent form peaked to early!

We've been sussed to be fair, need some new players in to shake things up and as the only decent striker we have at the moment is Lambert, (he's more than decent to be fair the lad's fantastic,) we're too reliant on him. If it makes you Bhoys feel any better I think we've been linked with every prolific young striker in Britain so far.

havent read through this thread but its kinda suprising reading some of the comments here!

and to the people talking about inflated prices ... well its even more depressing when you think 11 years ago juve sold Zidane to real for a world record of like £48M or something. seems like hardly anything these days!

Aye, Stokes was only 18 when Sunderland signed him which people forget. How many 18, 19, 20 year old strikers do the business in the Premiership or Championship? not very many I would think.

The fact is the EPL is a false Economy.. Only thing keeping the EPL amongst the top leagues in the world is the TV cash from SKY Sports.. Without that cash it would just be like any other league in Britain. Fact is most English clubs are intimidated by the Old Firm and know for a fact if we were to be granted entry into any of the Leagues down South they would struggle to compete with us so instead resort to Slating us and the league we play in. If we are that bad then why are the top English clubs so worried about us gaining a foothold in a League down South ask yourself that.

we cant seriously be in a position to sell our top strikers, we have not won the league in 3 years and we are no cash strapped. Lennon said we are in a hunt for a new striker.

Why dosent Lennon quash this by saying NOT FOR SALE... instead he lets the world know there is "interest"

Also why would Hooper take a career step backwards?

I heard 4.5 mil was being talked about for him, roughly half of what i at least value him at. If we move him on for that, frankly its an insult and disgrace. Keep him at paradise, and send the English vultures packing, Hoops has to be an integral member of our title-winning push this year. Make sure we get him tied down for several years if we can.

What baffles me is the fact that this has now turned into a total brawl between both teams fans.

The fact of the matter is when Hooper joined Celtic from Scunthorpe he stated that he could have went to Blackpool, Wigan etc. but didn't want to be at a struggling team in the Premiership and seen Celtic as a better lure for him, so I don't see at all why he'd then go to Southampton who still have a long way to go until the end of the season and may or may not get promoted.

Not to mention that Hooper has said himself he is loving life here and "couldn't be any happier", Southampton fans also seem to be of the opinion that Celtic are in some sort of money troubles which we are not. Celtic are sitting debt free all be it 700k or so, with a team of young promising players who will 1 day have a massive sell-on value.

At this moment in time Lennon won't be wanting rid of ANY top player for Celtic as there is a title to be won and a possible treble. Hail Hail!

"And Lambert could score 35 in that League in a Season for one of the big 2 (Rangers and Hibs), that's for sure."

LOL'ed at that comment. If he had any idea of what the SPL was like he would have said Motherwell or United not Hibs :56:
