Ok, well the equivalent of our L1 wages. Lambert was on somewhere between 15/20k a week in L1. Fact is if he comes here he's gonna get a massive pay rise.

Dont get why your so confident ?
The player has said he wants to stay and extend his contract and the manager even said he isnt for sale several times, yet your getting excited because of a hollow rumour on twitter.
7.5 m would still get knocked back imo, our board know dam well they cant afford to * up in a jan window again and risk losing the title.

I cant believe our board are even talking these offers seriously. I would be rediculously ragin if we sold Hoops man. He's only 23 years old and only getting better. When we win the league at the end of the season and he wants to go because hes won everything he could then fair enough but not have way through a season.

I don't know, just got that feeling that we will. Especially knowing what we're like with transfers now, and having seen palace fans say the same things when we signed Fonte "he'll never go down a league" "it'd be a step backwards etc". I don't think it's a case of money, it's just if he wants to come, if we want him and he wants to come to Southampton he'll end up here.

I have no concerns that Hooper will be leaving for £8m.

We'll not be selling our first-choice striker, mid-season, for anything other than an astronomical price.

Sorta does, if you want to get good young english talent your gonna have to pay an absolutely ridiculous price. If they really want hooper southampton should be willing to pay an absolutely ridiculous fee, frankly i don't see him being let go for anything less than 10m.

Well I don't see how one ridiculous transfer fee justifies another, but we're just gonna have to wait and see if your board agree on that one I guess!

Champions league is worth 15-20 million so why risk it by selling our top striker for 4-6. Altough I would not be surprised if our board let him go for a bit of profit even if Hoops doesnt want to leave.

Mate just because you have rich owners does not mean a thing once the financial fair play comes in. You will not be able to afford to pay massive wages to anyone as you are at best a mid sized club with little or no interest outside Hampshire.

I'd be more surprised if they didn't. I cannot see us turning down £7m for him, or any of our players for that matter.

Everything at the club is done within budget, our chairman is running things exceptionally well and it won't be a problem. We've got a lot of money but we don't spend it recklessly, or we'd have came straight in with a huge bid for Hooper rather then negotiating.
We've also got a huge catchment area, so potentially can become a very big club if managed properly

You only have a 32000 capacity ground (approx) so there are only so many people you could get in. I've no doubt you would fill that if in the EPL but regardless how big the catchment area you will never be a known name worldwide and thats where the money is to be made. The best you can hope for imo is to be a mid table EPL side.

Nope, not persuaded me on that one, that's hardly in relation to any transfer speculation. Oxo was saying how happy he was here a month before leaving for Arsenal.
Fair enough if he came out tomorrow and said it, it'd be the suitable thing to do since your managers confirmed a bid for him.

Well the chairmans aim is to be a Champions League side, they've said that ever since they took over.
They're also looking at either expanding the stadium or building a new one. They've said it will cost as much to expand to 55k as it did to build it in the first place, so I could see us ending up with another new stadium, which has been mentioned.
A big stadium, with a big catchment area and a first class youth set up is good foundations for a successful and sustainable team.

What? Even your manager confirmed we've bid for him! I meant something in relation to these transfers not some generic "Im happy here" from a month ago.
It's not hard for him to come out and squash the rumours and say he wants to stay put and you know it's not, hence why a lot of you are nervous that he's going to leave.
