I even read the Scottish Sun using a joke comment by Lennon after the Spartak match out of context to add weight to their version of the story. Most other media outlets are going with the "According to Talksport" line. I would like more detail on these "broken promises" before I consider this story anything more than lazy journalism.

Gonna get slated on here for saying this, and it in no way reflects how good I think Hooper is. But I really do believe he would now be looking to move on from Celtic. But not until the end of the season.

If a solid offer was made, I see him throwing a bit of wobbler to leave. Sadly.

I think he would only leave us if he got an offer from a top 6 club, e.g. Spurs as he's a fan of them. I don't think he'd leave us for mid-table obscurity like Fulham or relegation candidates like West Ham, I think he would only leave us to go to a fairly big club down there because I do feel he has a lot of respect for Celtic. Why would he want leave us to move to a club with no Europe and virtually no opportunities to win trophies? Doesn't make any sense to me.

It's not all about that for some players.. and Hooper has said before how big a club he thinks Celtic is, and that's why I'm not sure he'd leave us to join teams like QPR, Southampton etc, clubs that other than money can't offer him much else. I think he'll wait for his chance with a big club down there

Not any more they're not. Liverpool will be consigned to the role of also-rans in the EPL for the foreseeable future. Man C, Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and now Spurs are all ahead of Liverpool in the order of things in England. I hope we can keep Hooper but if he is to leave in the future I hope it will be to a club that wins things or plays CL football. That's not Liverpool, Liverpool just make up the numbers.

He won't leave in January; especially if we are still in Europe. Which right now is a likely factor.

If we accept a bid and someone wants to double his money then I think he'd go. We don't need to sell though so I hope we don't sell unless its ridiculous. Remember they payed 35 million for Carroll

They're skint now though, frankly because they were throwing out stupid money for players like Carroll. They wouldn't bid over £6m for Clint Dempsey; one of the best players in the Premiership last year.

Do you think they'll even attempt to go more than £6m for Hooper? Not a chance. Even at that it doesn't matter; this is agent talk; wheres the quotes from the clubs? From the player involved? There's nothing there; it's international week and the players had a few days off and Hoopers agent is trying to cause trouble to get a payday out of it.

Hooper won't be here forever but he won't leave in January; unless it really is a stupid bid (£15m odds) which won't happen.

Nah mate, not skint at all. If anything we'll spend tons in January because everyone's * at the owners for * us over so royally on deadline day. We could possibly bid 20+ million on a striker in Jan

They didn't '* you over' they refused to spend out of budget. Now they may cave and get the club into debt; however I don't think that is likely. They splurged out by putting there full backing into Kenny Dalglish. You won't see that much money being spent on a single player; there won't be any other Andy Carroll like signings.

Liverpool can't afford to be competitive at the moment; which is why they basically got beat for every player they were in for this season including the likes of Sigurdsson who was desperate to link up with Brendan Rodgers again. The Clint Dempsey saga was a disgrace.

Skint may be too strong a word.... but they are operating within a strict budget.
