Never been a massive fan. Has some good spells but there are runs of games where he is totally anonymous. Also isn't suited to one up top and that suits our team unfortunately for him. If we sold him I wouldn't be fussed as long as we brought some quality in.

    No I am not joking

Hooper scored 43 goals in 80 appearances for Scunthorpe and has a similar ratio in the spl with 48 from 74 at Celtic.

Lambert has scored 83 in 145 for Southampton winning the golden boot award in 3 of the last 4 seasons along the way.

    You do the maths.

Oh, and he has yet to miss from the penalty spot for them either. (26/26)

Aye and 51 of them were in League One when Southampton were far and away the best team in the league with * knows how many of those penalties. Hooper was in a bottom end Championship team and scored almost 20 goals in a season.

Aye, alright. Rickie Lambert. Why not get Charlie Adam back to boss the midfield? :56:

Why would he want to go to Liverpool or southampton anyway? The only appeal they have for footballers is the wages they are willing to pay.

Also why give up champions league football every year ( atleast europa league till christmas ), winning medals and trophy's and having a chance to make himself a celtic legend ( if he stays with us for another 5 or 6 years, he will score an absolute shitload ). No player should leave celtic for money as they soon realise celtic may not pay as much as some clubs but were almost certainly always a bigger club and we are more than a club we are a massive family. Look at the amount of people who didn't support or care for celtic in that matter who have now become massive fans like larsson, hartson, sutton, big tony mowbray, thompson. The list is endless. Give hooper, wanyama and anyone else thinking about leaving for money a five minute talk to with any of ex these players and they will think again.

    * post mate

Southampton are a bottom end Premiership side (almost certain relegation candidates) and Lambert has already scored more goals than the likes of Aguero, Rooney, Torres and Podolski this season.

    Lambert couldn't lace Hooper's boots.

I'm not saying Lambert is superior to Hooper. If i'm giving that impression then I apologise. What I'm suggesting is that Lambert is the type of player who would be an ideal strike partner for Saurez and the fact that he's a scouser who has proven he can cut it in the Premiership makes it a no brainer in the short term. Personally I don't think there is a lot to choose between the two of them on what they have done up till now but I would prefer to keep Hooper at Celtic simply because he has a good few more years left in him.

Hooper was immense last night. I didn't realize it was a hamstring injury he had, so that explains why he "went missing during games". I've had them and they suck, it's difficult to predict when they have properly healed. It takes ages to build them back up and you can go for a burst of pace and tweak it very easily.

That goal was out of nothing and an absolute screamer. Has to stay for a shot at the big guns in the next round!!!

Aye having been on the pitch for longer than all of them, almost double that of Aguero with only one more goal than him. He's no better than Grant Holt.

    Another * post mate

(1)Torres has been "on the pitch" the longest of all of them.
    (2) Augero has played in 12 matches and Lambert 15 (2x12 was 24 when I was at school)
    (3)Lambert :6 goals in 1161 minutes, Holt: 3 goals in 1159 mins ( 2 times better?)

The Premiership has already become a two horse race between the same two clubs who took it to the wire last season and I can tell from the dribble in your last post exactly where you got the inspiration for it so here's one that won't take you too long to research.

Name every striker who has scored against both Manchester clubs in this seasons Premiership?

To help you get started, forget Grant Holt.

Except we won't sign him. Won't sign Hooper, either. Neither fit into Rodgers' way of playing. Seriously guys, don't worry, i can't say you'll keep Hooper, but one thing's for sure, he's not going to Liverpool. :50:

Never said you would mate. Just suggested that Lambert would be a better option than Hooper for Liverpool. (that does not constitute to him being superior)Lets be honest you have signed a lot worse recently.

Noticed names like Daly, Griffiths and Murphy coming up a few pages back. Forget all of those players. We need to spend wisely now and improve the side. None of them will do that. Only SPL player I would maybe like to see at Celtic is Johnny Russell.Think he would inject a bit of pace and energy into our front line. Although even then I am not 100% sure about him.

I would like us to continue our scouting abroad. Belgium, Holland, Poland etc countries like that is where we should be going most of the time. SPL is DEED in terms of talent IMO.

Very, very good shout imo. He's quite like Defoe, I often think. Hooper could possibly replace Defoe quite well.
