We've already rejected that a year ago ffs and since then he's scored in the CL.

Hooper has been terrible in the league this season, good in the other competitions. Set the team up right, and he scores every week.

A bid of 12 million would be enough and it frees up Watt to play his position, add someone like Johnny Russell to the mix and we'll score a lot of goals. We can replace the likes of McCourt and Rogne, who always get injured. For maybe as little as £5 million the team can be freshened up. Maybe Jamie Murphy from Motherwell, the polish winger we've been looking at.

Id like to see us add a couple of scots to the team.

Well, you bring in 12 million, and you get two replacements for 2 million. It's genius. It's a guaranteed 30 goals and they'd be easy signings to make. Rather than signing someone who needs time to settle, doesn't like the weather etc. why not sign players with experience playing in Scotland? We'd get 2 guys that know what it means to play for Celtic, know the other teams and i just reckon they'd raise their game.

Johnny Russell's got the physical presence, Murphy's got good technique. Lenny will have options and other ideas, but maybe the reason players aren't up for it in the league is due to a sever lack of Scottish players in the first team.

Maybe we should be looking to strengthen our squad rather than weaken it?

Anything over 10 million and he'll be gone, maybe even 8. I'd take anything 10 and over.

If he is overrated, surely that makes it all the more foolish to sell him for less than his actual worth?

I'd take Russel but Murphy seriously the boys * just another over rated player as for not enough Scottish players maybe if there was any that were the standard of Hooper, wanyama, Forster, Izzy then they would be here unfortunately there are only maybe 2 Scottish players that are capable of playing consistently at our level and then there's future transfer fees that will get taken into consideration you'll never see a Scottish player at Celtic go for 10-15 million where as with a foreign player there is more chance of a higher sell on value and I don't by into this theory that Scottish players will play better because they know the history or the size of the club

IMO there's a fair few Scottish players who could improve our team but most of them would cost too much as they're already at big clubs. I think Gary Mackay-Steven would improve us though, maybe Leigh Griffiths as well. Apart from that don't think any Scots are good enough ATM.

Sometimes you have to get weaker to get stronger. We sold Ki, the defense got stronger, we sell Hooper and their will be a whole bunch of strengthening going on, if Wanyama goes we get weaker, but we then have a manager who can do a lot with 2 million, never mind 22. If you see what i mean.

We can't keep players forever, and what Hooper says to the press is totally different to what he's really thinking and right now, i think he's thinking, "I better turn some form in here, because the transfer windows about to open."

I would've said that too last season but find it hard to argue with Griffiths' form this season. Still hate the guy but would begrudgingly take him.

Don't think we have any players like that tbh - especially not Gary.

I get your point but the thing your missing is that we have loads of money. £30m so far from this seasons Champions League. Would rather see us improve on our current squad than sell players to buy which isn't something we really need to do anymore. Of course if we get a huge offer you have to sell but we aren't looking in the bargain bin anymore. In saying that you look at the gems we've got with no money so far can't wait to see what we'll do with a bit of cash.

If our past history is anything to go by we will make an * of it.I can think of few big money buys that we have made that have worked out well lets stick to what we are doing at the moment.

I didn't say Murphy would be a replacement for Hooper, Johnny Russell could be, or Watt. I was simply trying to say that Murphy's contract runs out soon, we might be able to do a deal on the cheap and he might do better than Hooper's four goals in the league.

It makes a mockery of the whole transfer system, sign hooper for what, 1.5 million, sell him for 12, sign a guy for £400,000 and we still win the league and drop the wage bill.

This is the future for us and it's how to go from being one of the biggest clubs in the world, to being one of the richest.

Hooper's not exactly set the league alight with his magic this season, or with his one goal in the Champions League.

I'd imagine we'll cover our 7 million of debts from last season, pay off some of our long-term loan, & put aside some as fallback in case we don't get into the group stages next year. Then weigh in with some lucrative renewal deals to hang on to our promising young stars, and snap up a few more gems in the general price range we've already been working in.

I don't think one season of CL group-stage football is going to have any significant impact on our signing strategy - & in all honesty I reckon that's wise on the club's part. :50:
