I don't get the bitterness towards Gary Hooper, do people not think he served us well?

Would like him back but i doubt he will, QPR bound id think, to think we could have had him and charlie austin at one point, now they might end up together with 'arry

Yep agree with everything you say there. It did * me off something awful he didn't sign but a hold no bitterness towards him.

Still don't want him back unless we get him for around the 2 million mark. And He's not the main striker we bring in this summer.

in we spent 3+ on him him he probably would be the main striker brought in. He was excellent for us. But if we want to push on we need better. Surely Hooper isn't the best striker we can get at the club.

Hopefully the scouts a few strikers in mind.

I honestly would love him to come back here. I've stated before in the Hooper thread why I bear no hard feelings towards him, and believe that he would be a great addition to our squad.

    Deila him in... :fear:

I thought Hooper did very well at Celtic and I respected his reasons for moving on (eg. international place and no doubt more money). However he has struggled at Norwich, and now they are relegated I cannot imagine it is the place to be. I would accept him back at a knock down price. However perhaps his ship has sailed and the new manager will have different prospects in mind.

Hooper coming back.....No thank you he has been here and done it and his class Shone out at Norwich so no thank you. And to all the guys who want him back look at his stats last year. If we had never heard of him before and we're after him everyone would not want him based on his stats so let's move on and get a decent striker in.

We know how good he is though, he was by far our best striker when he was here, and still would be if he came back. He ended up playing in a Norwich team who played extremely negative, and he was in and out the side, and also injured in the first few months of the season.

Do we even know 100% Hooper was offered a contract same as Ledley? Cause we all thought Sami was offered a deal and it turned out he was not offered one.

This is turn may have caused Lennon to leave since the board * it up with all 3 of th with contracts and let millions slip through their fingers.

IMO it's not all down to Hooper we could and should have offered him a better deal at least 15 months into his contract or even before cause we could see how good a goal scorer he was.

Now you can't blame him for wanting to better himself and play in the EPL he wanted to try and break into the England side and to be fair he was banging in the goals but I think most people knew he would jot get into the England team but he wanted to try, but going to Norwich was not the best ideas.

It had failed to happen going to the World Cup but to say that you would not want the most prolific goal scorer since Larsson back is a wee but daft.

In saying that I can't see it ever happening because the new manager is not gonna go for him.

I'd take him back in a heartbeat, as long as the price is correct though.

Got a feeling he'll end up at QPR with 'Arry. Him and Austin would be a decent partnership.

Just saw that on the BBC gossip page. Lets hope the over inflated English market does us a favour.

Or we can get him for cheaper if we are going for him.

Very true. Not convinced it'll happen, but it is a plus.

Agree with the increase for Hooper coupled with a 2 year extension to his deal. I believe now is the time to do this with Virgil rather than waiting until he is in his last year. The penny pinching as regards decent wages with contract increase for better players hurts us more than penny pinching in the transfer market.
