You realise that if he was to fail down there, I wouldn't say that he already has, that that is bad for us in the long run as we will make less of a return on player investment. As our policy now is to buy cheap and sell for maximum profit then we need the players that we do sell to thrive in the EPL as we will be able to demand bigger transfer fees if we can show that our other ex-players have gone on to do well. Plus, the worse he does down there the more * EPL fans will continue with the 'anyone can score goals in the SPL' bullshit.

I don't understand why so many of our fans hold it against ex-players because they leave. Especially an English player who wanted to play in the EPL.

Made his choice, thought the grass would be greener, but it wasn't.

Was disappointed he left, but it's done now.

    Move on.

Wait a minute, he scored regularly in domestic football, and proved he was capable of doing a job in Europe for us, after adapting his game to play as a lone striker, and also brought a lot more than just goals to the table. However, you don't see the benefit of bringing him back? :56:

He got his chance of playing in the best stadiums of Europe, but he turned his back from been one of the bhoys to go and get picked for England . His leaving unsettled Celtic, he failed at Norwich and will probably fail wherever else he goes in England . He got his chance at Celtic, we made him , took him from an unknown from one of the lower leagues in England to a known European footballer , we give him his chance , we shouldn't give him a second chance .

Disagree with this, cant fault the lad for trying to better himself. As for the "we shouldnt give him a second chance", thats just childish. Plenty of players have left to try better themselves only to come back to Celtic and do a job for us again, he would be no different.

QPR bound I think. Arry has admired him for a while and the thought of having him and Austin up top will have him creaming his auld knickers..and rightly so.

    * Hooper when we bring in Henrik we'll go all out for Finnbogason anyway. In all seriousness no chance can i see him returning though, the wages and transfer fee would be too much for us now and even then i don't think he ever took the club to heart during his time here, best to just let him let him plead for another small Premiership team whilst we look for someone who's affordable and interested in playing for Celtic.

Exactly CeltBhoy93 . To leave Celtic to play for Norwich shows a particular lack of brain power . We cannot start a scenario of players we lifted from the bottom coached and brought to unbelievable heights , F off to the EPL and return to us as if nothing ever happened.

we signed him for 2.4m and sold him for 5m, he played 138 games for us and scored 82 goals....dont think he done his bit and then earned us a profit?

Mate you're at it. Almost every post comes over as confrontational as possible. Read a thread, see the general theme of the comments and take the opposite view.

I've been wanting him to come back since the minute he left, absolutely love him.

Anybody think our board would shell out £5million for him? Sure we'd all love to have him back, but remember people he needs a move to the Premiership to get into the national side, LOL.

If he was available for the right price, of course he would be welcomed back, re-signing a proven goalscorer? An absolute no brainer. And anyone who says otherwise would be rushing to the superstore to get Hooper 88 on the back of it as soon as he started scoring again.

I think we only sold him because he wanted to go. It would make sense for us to buy him back for around £5m. I think we'd pay it.

Never happening. Transfer requests shouldn't be reversed.

Hooper needs the service. If he doesn't and goes to a team that can't provide the service, i.e. Norwich, he's not involved. It's essentially the main reason he left, we stopped strengthening the team in the right ways to provide the goals against Juventus.

As it stands, Griffiths and Stokes want to be here and i've got a lot more respect for people who want to be here, rather than people who just use the club to get some publicity and experience.
