You think Griffiths would get a regular game in the EPL with Norwich?

I like everybody mate and I don't hold grudges. But people going around repeatedly calling or insinuating another poster on the forum is a Hun is not on. These same poster/s have also been warned only last Friday they would receive a ban and sit out the Malmo game, so they have no defence for their actions, as it is premediated with malice aforethought, and a public attempt to blacken that poster's name.

My point was the age, not the ability. Hooper is 27, plenty of time for his career to pick up.

Wolves were happy enough to sell him when they were in League One. As you said earlier, if he was as good as people make out then there would be clubs wanting him.

    You don't rate Griff?

With the "if he's as good as people make out" comment, I can only assume you don't actually watch us play? I'm pretty sure that Ronny and Collins said he was really good as well.

Anyway, on Hooper... Would we be able to pay his wages? I'm guessing he's on a lot more than we would pay.

And if Hooper was as good as people make out he'd be starting for Norwich and not warming the bench not even getting on.

Some people just refuse to give Griffiths the credit he's due. Maybe its because he's a funny looking wee guy or because people think he's a bit neddish but the fact is the guy is not only a quality goalscorer but he's also a quality all round player.

Providing he stays fit and Ronny plays him, he'll score 30+ league goals for us this season.

Hooper was a good player for us but he was lazy at times and Id far rather have a guy that actually wants to play for us and wont leave the minute a EPL club comes sniffing about.

So would we all I think but if that means sacrificing quality then I'm not so sure.

Reality is any non-Scottish/Celtic supporting player nowadays will have eyes elsewhere alot quicker than the players who have grown up in the Scottish game and appreciate how big it is to play for us.

The sooner folk get over that the better. Van Dijk is the same, Forster, Wanyama, Bitton probably will be too.

Griffiths would have to improve a helluva lot for EPL clubs to come sniffing about him. He's improved loads since he came to us and tries his heart out. Will always support a player that gives his all for Celtic but currently no EPL would want him. Guy deserves a chance in Europe but I do have my doubts

No he isn't. He doesn't have much else to his game, goals aside. Only his energy.

Always find it funny that some people on here think others don't rate someone because they're Scottish or some stupid * like that. Neddish.:smiley-laughing002:

Great he'll score goals in Scotland, we know that, but I don't think for a second he'll score goals in Europe.

It's shocking that people don't think we need better than Leigh * Griffiths.

A understand what you're saying, and I agree that Griffiths is not a good all round footballer, but he has improved shed loads since we signed him.

When you say 'we need better than Leigh * Griffiths' you're referring to the Griffiths that played for Hibs.. If you understand where I'm coming from.

Yes, we do need better than Griffiths, but he's definitely good enough to be back up at least. 12 goals in his last 12 games can't be ignored.

Hopefully Ciftci can become that player anyhow.. He has the tools as they say. I can't see us signing another striker in this window.

He has improved but not much. He's always been a goalscorer, but now he's a grafter as well. In terms of his technical ability, I honestly don't think there's been a big improvement.

His ball control really lets him down far too often. He can't hold it up and I said before, for the formation we play, we sort of need someone who can hold it and bring others in to play.

Ciftci has a different skill set but I don't think he's a prolific goalscorer. Really the ideal striker for us is Ciftci and Griffiths mixed into one.:smiley-laughing002:

Yeah I agree his technical ability hasn't improved much, but he's a much better athlete and, as you say, he's a grafter. He works unbelievably hard for the team.

For Europe anyway we do need someone who can hold up the ball. Once Ciftci gets up to speed with our tactics and fitness, I really think he can be just that. He had a good goalscoring record at United.

So you'd prefer Scott Allan to Victor Wanyama? According to your theory.

Anyone who wouldn't take Hooper back is a lunatic.
