    The biggest tragedy there is Andy Hinkel. Great player who understood what it means to play for this club. I was hoping he'd come back from his injury and get back to his best. I hope he is doing well now.

    Did'nt realise Peter Latchford was with Celtic untill 1987. Rumours at the time was he used to keep a pie in his cap when he left it in the goals during games. :celt_2:

    I remember this period, was brilliant. We scored against the huns and there were green white and Orange smoke bombs fired on to the pitch side. the whole of Hampden was engulfed in our smoke.

    But highlight of the day was when we scored again and some wee * cheeky monkey must have sneaked into the huns end and let a green one off in there.
    Seeing their sickened coupons in a wave of green smoke will be taken to the grave with me, What a day.

    Ps. we won the cup as well :icon_mrgreen:

    I was there that day! Unbelievable goal, a carbon copy of the one he would score about a decade later at the Euros. That said, not the best goal we scored that day, Darren Jackson scored an absolute belter, turning and putting it in the top corner from about 25 yards. We beat St Johnstone midweek in the cup, and then at the weekend in the league (where this photo's from), and it was the start of Jansen's revival after a terrible start to the season. Obviously ending with stopping the 10. Great season, great photo, thanks for posting!
