    Well worth it mate.

I've been to Indian restaurants here where the chicken tikka is just the same as a korma but with red food colouring in it.

The 2 places I mentioned - the food is cooked to order in an open kitchen and I've not tasted better outside India.

IMO there are a few curry houses that are decent

    Nakodar Grill, Duke St
    Shish Mahal, Park Rd
    Kama Sutra, Sauchiehall St
    Dhakin, Merchant City
    Cafe India, Merchant City

I want to try Wee Curry Shop, Mister Singh's and anyone of Balbir's places

I'm not a huge Indian fan, prefer Japanese or Chinese. But both of those restaurants are brilliant. Went to Balbirs on Church St and had the tasting menu. Brilliant. Waiter came round the table asking everyone what they liked/disliked and they created a meal for us.

Wee Curry shop is something else. Love it

Mother India's Cafe on Dumbarton Rd is great but is always busy. I went in one afternoon and my mate knew the chef. It was empty. The chef came out, spoke to us and created an off menu, staff meal. Sort of a dhaal with green chillis and chicken. One of the best dishes I've had.

Thats not a in a little white building up some stairs is it?

I hve only been to Ayr once years ago, and had a great curry, followed by a trip to a club where the waiter who served our curry was the bouncer!

Maybe.. quite a stretch from there to a club though.

There used to be, maybe still is, a decent curry house at the top of the Sandgate, which would be pretty close to Ayrs hottest clubs......

Never knew there was one in the Sandgate.

Anyway Balbirs on the A77 is the best for Indian in Ayrshire.

Rupee room is good though, ansie and the taj in Prestwick are pretty *
