Whenever teams get a chance like last night when they're running in on goal, I have no faith in Forster saving it anymore. That's twice now Sammon has beat him but the defence must take a lot of the blame also.

Also anyone who says Sammon isn't good enough for Celtic I disagree but that's for another thread

That's what I like to see, really positive, optimistic comments. You forgot to mention the weather.
Sticking to the threads theme, the GK is not good enough. He may be a fairly good shotstopper, but his all round game is no better than average. We need a commanding figure betweeen the posts.

Your posts a joke. All this negativity is a joke. What exactly does this post have to offer this thread other than an arguement? There is a thread on the current board, so take your oppinions of them to that thread ok? :50:

I think it speaks for itself when newcastle dont call him back with there 1st choice keepr out for quite some time then they bring in the number 2 and now there is a young keeper on the bench for them....

I know.. he was ok at best..... if he is as good as some people think surely they would have recalled him even for the bench instead of playing a youngster.

This thread makes me laugh. A few weeks ago everyone was praising Fraser and now he's suddenly crap. Ive been monitoring the celtic feed for sometime to see how you guys are getting on and Ive never met more fickel supporters! It's true that every set of supporters in england/scotland + the rest of the world are fickel (I'm no different) but you guys win top prize! Even after beating hearts 9-0 you couldn't help yourselves from highlighting weaknesses.

With regards to Fraser, having seen him many times at Norwich + Newcastle, he is going to be one great goalkeeper. He won players' player of the year last year + almost single handedly won Norwich the championship with multiple outstanding saves/clean sheets. He's definitely a future england goalie; just has to improve on a few areas (mainly kicking). I'm looking forward to his return to Newcastle and push for a first team place. Lets face it, with a crap defence like yours Im surprised you only concede 1 or 2 a game - all good goalkeepers need some protection; fraser has fa.

I think the main reason you are losing points lie with yourselves. I know celtic supporters can be great (their away fans were excellent at SJP on their last visit) but your never * there. Where are the loyal fans? Other than the old firm there are thousands of empty seats. Maybe if you spend more time supporting your team they may start to pick up points. It seems a great tragedy that celtic, one of the big european clubs, no longer has the fantastic fans of yesteryear. Go back and support your great team (irrespective if you don't like the individual players)!

Anyway, I wish you guys all the best and hope you do win the league. You'll be great once again but with time.

    All the best,
Geordie boy; NUFC through and through

Boruc was in the last year of his contract was wanting to leave and despite how much I rate him was not putting in the same performances we seen in his first three years. The board had no choice in the matter. They could have maybe spent a bit of money on a replacement but if Westwood is who they want what is the point in spending big on a player in the last year of his contract when you can get him for free at the end of the season. Forster was brought in as a stop gap for a year and has looked quite good playing behing a terrible back line.

Don't want him here on a permanent deal tbh, I think we could do alot better than having him in our nets.

    * sake lads. He's still in goalkeeping terms, and as a man, very young. He's came to a club with massive expectations and had to cope with the pressure of having to win every game. If you add that to the fact he has too hapless * in front of him every week, his confidence must be low. He will be a very good goalkeeper, but he has to believe in himself more and impose himself. He seems too quite on the pitch. As I said though, the guy's very young. Get off his * back. It'll do him no good.

Supporting your team, in my opinion, does not involve walking along blindfolded and pretending things are fine at your club when they blatantly are not. Supporting your team also does not mean pretending that certain players are better than they are just because they wear your club's colours. Supporting your team also should not include having blind spots about managers just because they used to play for your club - like your mob do about.....say............Kevin Keegan and Alan Shearer. Kevin Keegan spent a fortune at Newcastle, won * all and has done nothing of note as a manager since. Alan Shearer managed your team so well it got relegated yet I'd bet there are a great number of Newcastle fans who would happily take Keegan or Shearer back as manager tomorrow.

That is not supporting your club that is just being * stupid. Up here, players get worshipped if they do the business eg. Boruc, Larsson, Lubo and they get slated if they're a waste of * time eg. Samaras and Loovens.

    Anyway back to Fraser Forster...................

Based on his performances so far at Celtic I also see precious little to support your assertion that Fraser Forster will be a future England goalkeeper. He's got some major improving to do if he's ever going to reach that level.

Forster is a good shot stopper, I'd say that's his strength as a 'keeper, but in terms of commanding his area he's average at best. He's a reasonable keeper who is up here on loan for a season so I don't see why we should be lavishing any extravagant praise on him at this stage. If he ups his game then I'll be a bit more forthcoming with my positive words. That's the way it works.

it's not hard to tell at all. he's pish. never mind the fact he cant take command of the penalty box he cant even command his six yard area. forster no1 sums up how far we have fallen. a loan thrird string signing from newcastle who dont event want him back despite the fact they have a goalkeeper crisis at their club.

we'll win nothing with forster no1.

Have to agree forster is not good enough from me. being a giant is good and all but he is far too slow getting down. that goal against killie was an easy routine save he got beat by an easy shot to the near post which a keeper is never supposed to give away. I play keeper and my coach would be yelling at me for letting that one in. Cervi is not a better choice either he is a dud ive seen him play alot for the usa u21 team and he is terrible i was excited when i first heard celtic were getting an american keeper but they i watched him and was wondering what celtic saw in him besides his height
