He's been a great player for us no doubt but Ange has already made it clear that he only wants players that are committed to being here and not using the club for there own ends.

Celtic has boosted Forster's career twice now and he left us in the * big time last season so it's a no from me.

He must have led them to believe he was coming back last season or they wouldn't have got rid of Gordon.

Ange is in for a shock, most professional players are just punching their ticket at clubs like ours. some are doing it at Man Utd / City & Liverpool.

I don't disagree but I do think there are a lot of guys out there that want to play football at a club like Celtic. That's why he only signs guys he understands are hungry and have the right attitude.

There is no doubt a lot of the players still at the club have talent but so many last season didn't have the right attitude and that maybe where we have gone wrong.

Not always some guys like Larsson just like being adored by fans and be the main man at a big club.

I know most players only care about money but not everyone. Even if we are used as a stepping stone who cares if the attitude is right.

Ange must sacrifice his ideals and sign a basic GK who maybe can't recycle possession, but is not only reliable, he literally wins money for the club with his saves.

You don't even need to sign you big * just leave your boots and gloves in the net every game and they can replace barkas they'd probably save more fs

FRASER FORSTER has opened the door for a Celtic swoop after rejecting a new cut price contract at Southampton.

A move for keeper Forster could also gather pace as it emerges the ex-England star has knocked back a new deal.

SunSport first broke the news last weekend that Celts were weighing up a move to bring the ex-England star back to Scotland.

Now we can reveal the 33 year-old has turned down a new contract tabled by Saints to extend his current agreement which runs out in 12 months.

And that could see Celts step in and take advantage of the stand-off.

    Current Celts’ No1 Vasilis Barkas

blundered again in Tuesday’s crucial Euro qualifier with Danes Midtjylland.

And boss Ange Postecoglou has the green light to move for a new goalkeeper as part of his squad revamp.

Forster has had FOUR previous spells at Parkhead and luring him back to the club would be a major coup.

Premier League Southampton have been keen for Forster to put pen to paper on a new deal.

But crucially they’re looking to cut costs by trimming their massive wage bill - and that could pave the way for a Celtic swoop.

Saints’ negotiations with Forster’s representatives have stalled with the new wage package on offer significantly less than the mega money he’s on now.

Forster earns in excess of a staggering £100,000-a-week and Saints want to reduce his money by a THIRD to get him down to around £70,000-a-week.

But it’s believed that would put him on less cash than back-up goalie Alex McCarthy.

That’s seen Forster refuse to accept the deal on offer with his future at the club now appearing to be uncertain.

The hugely experienced goalie knows he could command a massive payday by allowing his contract to run down making him a free agent next summer.

But Saints could be tempted to move him on now if it becomes clear he won’t sign on their terms.

Their initial interest was with the view to over a loan deal but that could change if they believe a transfer could be agreed.

What, a goalkeeper that can win you points & cup matches & That can produce fantastic saves. Ange needs to rethink his ways.

I'd have him back no bother.

All this * madness about ball playing keepers and defenders is all well and good, but those actually reliable enough to do are genuinely world class and not a lot of them exist.

Those at the level celtic can aquire are * calamitous and I'd rather Forster come in and be a match saver, then have limp wanks like Barkas in goal, just because he supposedly finds it easier to pass the ball to his cb's with his feet.

They'll want to sell him if he's only got 12 months left rather than loan him, and I can't see us paying a fee for a 33 year old

If the rags are correct, and he's on excess of 100k a week, we've no chance.

He's refusing to sign an extension, which reduces his wages to around 70k... So what * hope have we got.

The only plausible scenario is that Southampton loan him out, and look for someone to pick up at least half of his wages... Which again, is too rich for us.

Either way this is a non starter.

    We have to look elsewhere.
