Honestly, I don't want to go back for this guy again.

Was great for us, specially since he helped so much to the 9th title.
But the time is done for this guy, as a club we need to move on as well, he has made his choice a few times now.

 

He did, but I wouldn't say it was to sit on the bench. I think everyone was unanimous in thinking he'd be Southampton's number one when he left. It hasn't worked out.

I'm playing devil's advocate here, would you rather stick with Barkas or get someone in who is not as good as Forster over giving Forster another year loan?

 

I would get him in so it’s one less position to worry about this year. We can plan better for next season, hopefully.
We need multiple positions sorting now & he’s a guaranteed & proven solution.

 

I know it will sound mental to some, but Barkas.

Of course Forster IS a better keeper, but I just don't think that is a realistic option and he has knocked us back already.
With getting in a whole new keeper, it runs its own risks as well. And honestly, I have faith in Barkas.

 

Seen it reported today he’s on £130k a week down there. Bit different that.

 

130k is massive, what percentage would we even be able to realistically afford that makes sense to us long term here?

we wouldn't go above 40k, which would be around 30% and is a club really going to accept that from us?
Even then, it doesn't help us beyond one season, Barkas would be down the pecking order/sold and we are at square one again next season.
Would rather build up Barkas, who I honestly think is a better keeper than we are seeing. Confidence and belief will go a long way with Barkas.

 

We paid £60k a week last season for Duffy.

I’d rather go with the guy that takes us up a level than gamble on the option that’s already failed, hoping we can get something different out of him.

One season is what we need. Consolidate and get into the CL. He can be one of the biggest reasons for us being able to do that

 

Get him. A good keeper wins you games themselves.

 

Pretty embarrassing running back to Forster constantly for another years loan.

If we want a goalie, go out and sign one. All we do is get loan after loan, and we're back to square one 12 months later because the club never plans ahead.

 

Duffy came out and said it was a lot less than that figure.

But aye, I totally think Forster would go a long long way to helping win the league. But just not for me.

Elements of cutting nose off, sure.

If you're embarrassed by that, wait until I tell you how our 20/21 season was.

 

You don't want a player in who has the potential to win us back the league.

Come on now.

 

As silly as it sounds, I think barkas is capable of helping us do just that as well.
Money we spend on Forster should be spent instead on another defender of a higher standard than we already have.

Some may argue that McGregor literally won the league for them last season.

An outstanding keeper can never be overlooked.

Apart from Eddie this is the other player the zombies hordes fear as some are mentally scarred after the league cup final and they don't want him back in Celtic team so if that's the case get him if you can .

 

When was that? He said we were paying 100% of his wage as well earlier on in the season. Plus the £2m loan fee as well.

 

My bad though, he just states that Celtic paid his full wage here, not that it was only 25k.

However from searching, it seems he is on 38k a week though.

Aye £40k apparently and a £2m upfront fee. What a waste.

 

That 2m fee is shocking.

Having seen him, I'd expect him to go for as little as that in a full transfer.

Another Celtic signing based on some weird "he knows the club/city" notion.

I'm fairly confident starfelt surely won't be remotely as risky.
