I'm not sure what to believe about the Forster situation but one thing I have noticed is a lot of people saying that he will regret this as he will "rot away in the lower leagues" or something like that.

    Sheer hypocrisy.

We talk of English arrogance and how overrated their clubs and players are yet now Forster has "angered" us, he is instantly not good enough for them even though he has broken records up here and would be our number one for years. Instead of having a dig at the player, you're actually just devaluing our own league and our club by association.

If he has decided to move on, then we musn't hang around, we need a new keeper as soon as possible. Zaluska is currently our only goalkeeper, and whilst I think he's a good player, we need another option urgently.

We've had Forster do a terrific job for the past 2 years - without having to pay a transfer fee, mind - and has been a major part in setting back to back SPL clean sheet records. Although my preference would be for him to remain, as he knows the players in front of him, and just as important they know him. That said, if FF does decide that his future lays elsewhere, then I wish he would inform Lenny, so we can get a suitable replacement in ASAP.

Foster was clearly getting better all the time.

£2m is a good price for a keeper of that quality and with great potential at 24.

If Craig Gordon could sort his injury problems out he would be a great singing too.

Do need to nail someone down though.

i wouldnt be overly concerned by Pardew's talk, its in newcastle's interest to flog forster to any team other than Celtic as they would expect to get more than the £2m agreed with us. Maybe Pardew's trying to get other clubs interested. Either way we need a decision soon. Gordon or Robinson would be fine alternatives in my mind.

Ff is clearly stringing us along, making sure he's got us as an option if all else fails. I think its nearly time for Lennon to pull the plug and start searching elsewhere.

If he hasn't accepted our offer by the end of the week, we should move on. As far as I'm concerned, by then he'll have had his chance, and if he hasn't taken it, there's no way our club should stoop to the level of chasing a player. It's pathetic and totally unbefitting of Celtic FC.

In terms of his replacement, for me, Craig Gordon is the obvious choice: he's back to full fitness, he's the best in Scotland (and one of the top two or three in Britain when on form), he has experience, but is still around about a goalkeeper's peak age, and he's available for free. His wages would be costly (probably around £30k), but on a free transfer (and with us having shifted some deadwood) we should be able to afford that for our starting goalkeeper.

In my opinion, as of Friday evening, one of these two things must be the case - either Fraser Forster is our number 1 goalkeeper on a permanent basis, or Craig Gordon is our main target.

The Forster situation is doing my nut in, if he hasn't signed by the end of the month he can forget it.

More like we can because the price will have risen due to the clause in his deal that lets us get him for 2mil will have expired.

I have went off FF now! Has taken too long and doesnt seem to want to play for us. After 2 years of playing for us his mind should be made up either way and it seems to be not in our favour.

whats the deal with the £4M clause in his contract that was said a couple of pages ago?

is it a £4M release clause or something?

and like i said before, if he eventually doesnt sign for us, he will go for more than £2M to another team. think pardew and forsters agent are up to something

If he hasn't signed by the end of the week, let's drop it and go after Gordon instead. No player's worth being mucked about like this. We've the reputation of the club at stake here: can't be seen to be grovelling to players.
