    Thompson signed for Celtic in 2000, Cole started playing for England in 2001. He was 100% a regular squad member for England when Thommo played for Celtic. He was 22 and in their Euro squad when Thommo eventually earned his 1 and only cap.

    I like big FF and think he is a solid goalkeeper, he very rarely makes a mistake. Goals are usually just good solid efforts which he may not be able to help, or require extreme reactions and positioning which cannot be done every time.

    However in the future i think we may have a problem holding onto him, he seems pretty intent on breaking into the England set-up and he may get ignored while playing in the SPL.

    In a couple of years without a cap he may look to move to the EPL to fulfil this desire! But hopefully not! :50:

    That was surely one of his best performances at Celtic. I think this is how our club is going operate over the next few years e.g buy him for 2mil let him strutt his stuff in europe then sell him for 10 giving us a hefty profit to replace him and letting him fullfil the english premier league dream. I dont mind this policy aslong as it doesnt hinder the progress of Celtic

    Just goes from strength to strength. For a goalkeeper, a very young age as well. If (big if) we get to CL, that will give him and others a better stage on which to impress.

    2 million is a snip. He will be gone in a couple of years for a lot more than that.

    The big man has been excellent since the pen save against Hearts last season. Last night was his best performance i think though. I couldn't quite understand why people wanted Gordon over him to be honest. Gordon is injury prone and would have been on far more wages. A settled back four has done him the world of good.
